I am a new member to this group. I am from NJ and scheduled to get banded on October 23 in NYC by Dr. Fielding. I am currently on a two week liquid diet and weigh about 311. I am so excited about having this surgery. I would appreciate and positive encouragement.

Congratulations on your surgery date!! Thats the HUGE acomplishment. I just had my band surgery 10/4/06. Feeling great. Lost 12# in past 2 weeks, It will slow down now. But as lon as it goes down I will smile. I am here for you. We can get healthy together, I am about 264 right now so I have a ways to go as I am short! Jules

:welcomeB: and congratulations on your banding date NJbandman. I had my surgery on 2/13/06 and love it! I'm finally losing weight and keeping it off for the first time in years. I haven't weighed this much since just after my son was born 16.5 years ago. There have been ups and downs, fast losses and slow losses but, I'm here and still doing it. Still eating to live instead of living to eat...food is no longer the first thought in my mind. So much out there to be discovered and enjoyed that doesn't involve food and ya know what....even if it does...you can still have some. The band helps you not over do it  Some foods won't agree with you after surgery but, for the most part you can still enjoy the foods you enjoy now. I think maybe that's why I don't think about it so much? You know how it is...say the word diet and all of a sudden you're craving stuff you wouldn't of eaten if you weren't on a diet lol. Anyway.....listen to your docs, make sure you go to aftercare and keep up with us on LBT. Such a wonderful support group here! Congratulations on your decision and I wish you the best!

Hiya, Bandfella, glad you found us. Congratulations on your surgery date. You should look up the October bandsters thread as well.
