Hi everyone, my surgery date is Oct 19th, 2006 in Toronto, Canada. When I first inquired about the procedure, the clinic did not have approval to take American patients and now they do. I did not meet the requirements for surgery here in the US. My BMI was not quite high enough. I volunteered to gain more weight (ha ha!) but everyone kept telling me "diet and exercise, diet and exercise". Gee, why didn't I think of that. So off to Canada I go. I am really starting to feel the anxiety now but it feels motivating to me. I can't wait to get started and begin a new life.

Honeypie, wow, you have just a few days to go. Congratulations on your decision. I have read somewhere here on LBT that people with low BMI's have a lot of success with the band. My band buddy Jane (we went from Canada to Mexico together to get it done) was low BMI and she's looking fabulous already.
