  2. Happy 38th Birthday Remnant98!

  3. 3 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 3rd Anniversary Remnant98!

  4. Just wanted to check in and see how you're doing. Where are you in your journey. I pray that all is well for you. Take care and I hope to hear from you soon.

  5. Congratulations on 63!!! I'm at about 25 now, and going down. It's amazing & I don't know if "regular size" people will ever understand that feeling of being happy to fit into smaller sizes. . . in September before I had my surgery, I went into an Ashley Stewart & couldn't wear ANYTHING in the store. I mean anything - not even the panties! I went home crying that day. But when I was preparing to go on a cruise last month, I summoned up my courage and prepared myself to go in there again. I said, "I probly still can't fit anything, but at least I'll be able to see how far I have to go." Lo and behold, Sister, I was able to get into everything I tried on!!! You talking about Happy!!!

    Photos Before the Band

  8. I hear that I had been at a stand still creeping 1 pound up then loose 2. I had to move so all week I had been packing and moving things then saturday was the big day to move the rest of the stuff so it was hectic for me and when I got on the scale this morning I lost 7 lbs I finally made it to 63 lbs total so far I'm so happy this is truly a blessing because I struggled with weight my whole life. I never was ashamed of how I looked but I was always worried about my health so I thank god for this band. One another note it's wonderful to go into Lane Bryant and can't fit anything but the bras and panties that's a wonderful feeling. Have a blessed day now that I talked your ear off.

  9. Yes, we'll definitely keep in touch. I had been at the same weight for about a month and had missed a fill appointment. But when I went in last week & got my fill, things really started moving in the right direction. Going back this Wednesday to weigh in . . . pray for me!!! It's a great feeling, though. Like you said, despite the slow process, I'm really grateful to be losing real weight. And fitting into smalleeeeeeeeeeeer clothes, Sister!!! Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. I hear u I feel this is the best thing I could of done for myself too. There are times I stay at a stand still or my gain a pound or two but I wouldn't change it for anything I wish u the best keep intouch it's great to talk to people going through the same thing it makes me feel like I'm not alone.

  11. Thanks so much for your encouragement. I just got a fill and am noticing the difference. Was at a standstill & getting discouraged, but feeling much better now. Congrats - your before & during photos show what a blessing this procedure can be . . . it's honestly the best thing I've done for myself - ever!

  12. Thanks so much! I got the B&W dress & bolero sweater from Ashley Stewart. I've never been able to wear ANYTHING from there, but now I can!!! Can you say "Shouting in the dressing room"??? I've lost about 30 pounds.

    surgery date 1-13-09

Ditto! I've just been banded (10-20-2008) and I'm happy about the results already. Now I feel like I have hope & control. I really believe the weight will stay off this time. Keep in touch & let us know if you have anymore questions. And the nerves are what I experienced. Visited every web site - several times - read all the literature. Looked at other folks before & after photos. The whole nine. The waiting was the hardest part for me. Once the procedure was done, I didn't have any pain, just soreness, and I've lost two dress sizes already! It will be well. And if your journey is like mine, it will be worth it. All the Best to You

    Feeling Guilty!

Hello and congratulations on joining the band! I only have one thing to say - CALM DOWN! :tongue2: You're going to worry yourself to death, which, by the way, is absolutely normal. You've made a drastic change for your life. The surgery was just the beginning. But remember it didn't change your mindset, it only changed your body internally. The external changes - actions, lost weight - will come as time goes by. I think you might be stuck in the same mentality that many of us are - the DIET MENTALITY. This is not a "diet" but a new way of thinking about eating, food, and self-image. It will take time, Fellow Bandster. I'm about eight weeks out & I'm still fighting to stay off the scale everyday. Instead, I'm making sure I get all my Protein & fluids in. Working on being more active. The rest will happen. So I end with the word of advice I began with - CALM DOWN - you're doing fine. Don't think about what you ate, but WHY you ate. Dealing with those issues are far more demanding than keeping some Pasta out of your mouth. :cursing: Best to You

    Is this normal?

Hello - yes, your situation is absolutely "normal" based on what I'm experiencing. Remember that your body is getting used to working with fewer calories. So while you were losing weight during the first part of the post-surgery diet, your body caught on & started burning less energy. The same thing happened to me. I lost 17 lbs. after surgery within two & 1/2 weeks! Excited was I!!! But then the weight loss almost came to a screeching halt. Then worried was I!!! I've had two fills - the latest one today, and now I feel like I have more restriction. So my suggestion to you is to enjoy where you are now. Keep the rules in mind & learn to eat slowly, Protein first, no liquid with meals. By the time you get to your third or fourth fill, you'll look back with sadness  at the amounts you used to eat, but look forward with tremendous joy at the new person in the mirror! Be encouraged & stay the course.
