  1. Ditto! I've just been banded (10-20-2008) and I'm happy about the results already. Now I feel like I have hope & control. I really believe the weight will stay off this time. Keep in touch & let us know if you have anymore questions. And the nerves are what I experienced. Visited every web site - several times - read all the literature. Looked at other folks before & after photos. The whole nine. The waiting was the hardest part for me. Once the procedure was done, I didn't have any pain, just soreness, and I've lost two dress sizes already! It will be well. And if your journey is like mine, it will be worth it. All the Best to You
  2. Hello and congratulations on joining the band! I only have one thing to say - CALM DOWN! :tongue2: You're going to worry yourself to death, which, by the way, is absolutely normal. You've made a drastic change for your life. The surgery was just the beginning. But remember it didn't change your mindset, it only changed your body internally. The external changes - actions, lost weight - will come as time goes by. I think you might be stuck in the same mentality that many of us are - the DIET MENTALITY. This is not a "diet" but a new way of thinking about eating, food, and self-image. It will take time, Fellow Bandster. I'm about eight weeks out & I'm still fighting to stay off the scale everyday. Instead, I'm making sure I get all my Protein & fluids in. Working on being more active. The rest will happen. So I end with the word of advice I began with - CALM DOWN - you're doing fine. Don't think about what you ate, but WHY you ate. Dealing with those issues are far more demanding than keeping some Pasta out of your mouth. :cursing: Best to You
  3. Hello - yes, your situation is absolutely "normal" based on what I'm experiencing. Remember that your body is getting used to working with fewer calories. So while you were losing weight during the first part of the post-surgery diet, your body caught on & started burning less energy. The same thing happened to me. I lost 17 lbs. after surgery within two & 1/2 weeks! Excited was I!!! But then the weight loss almost came to a screeching halt. Then worried was I!!! I've had two fills - the latest one today, and now I feel like I have more restriction. So my suggestion to you is to enjoy where you are now. Keep the rules in mind & learn to eat slowly, Protein first, no liquid with meals. By the time you get to your third or fourth fill, you'll look back with sadness  at the amounts you used to eat, but look forward with tremendous joy at the new person in the mirror! Be encouraged & stay the course.
  4. Hey I know how you feel (or felt)! I was on a cruise to the Bahamas, in the middle of the ocean, and had the worst case of constipation imaginable. No hospital either!!! It was, to say the least, terrible, painful, and quite messy . . . but I won't go into it. What I wanted to share with you was the remedy: dried apricots or prunes. I read on the site that someone's doctor had recommended dried apricots. I was ready to try anything. The next day after I read it, I began eating at least five dried apricots a day - in the morning, during the day. And voila!!! No more major constipation!!! I like the taste of prunes, so I tried them too. Worked again. Plenty of water, G2 Gatorade, apricots or prunes, and things are working very well. Try it. Eat them everyday, and I can almost guarantee you'll never have to visit the ER for that again. Hope it helps . . . :tt1:
  5. Things are going well for me also. Went to the doctor for my follow-up & guess what . . . I have lost 14 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm excited.
  6. Just wanted to send a message to introduce myself. I've been studying the site since I decided to join the band - which I did on Monday, October 20th. It's been a great help reading some of the messages, questions, and responses. I thought it would be only right to return the favor! So I'm joining in & looking forward to share, learn, and loooooooooooooooooose with all of you! Remnant98
