    Gallbladder

No it was not painful. To be honest with you, I was surprised to learn, doing preop prep, that I had gall stones. The doctor recommended taking out the gallbladder during lapband procedure. I did recall one incident, two years ago, when I had extreme adominal pain. Went to ER and they were not able to diagnose the problem. I now suspect it was due to gallbladder problems.

    Day 2

I was banded yesterday:thumbup:, June 17 and everything went well. Dr. Chua, in Milwaukee, WI, is an excellent surgeon! He found out I had galls stones and my gallbladder was removed during surgery. Minimum pain after 2 days is at # 3. No gas/shoulder/neck pains yet. Just a little soreness. I thank God that he brought me this far and I will do my part to work toward completing my weight loss goal.

    Preparing for surgery...

I'm being banded on the 17th as well. Preparing to purchase everything needed for diet and feeling very excited and thankful. If you've done the research and followed your doctor's and staff advice, you'll be ok. Take a deep breath and meditate on ALL the good things about to happen. BE BLESSED--

Just starting the process looking for SE WI

I found out today after meeting with the dietitian that I will see her monthly for 6months.
  16. I live in Milwaukee--just met with my dietician a few days ago. Will meet with psych next week. Once approved, Dr. Chua will perform surgery at Aurora. Anyone out there insured under Wisconsin Badger Care Plus through United Health Care? If so, do you know what their criteria is for getting authorized? I contacted UHC and the rep stated she could not give me the info.

Just starting the process looking for SE WI

After I meet with the dietian and psych next week, I will have a better idea as to when I will be banded. I hope it won't be six months or more. I wish you the best with your upcoming surgery. Let me know how it goes. I'll be praying for you.

Do you live in Wisconsin and have Badger Care Plus HMO (standard plan) through United Health Care? If so, what steps did they require you follow before getting lapband approval?

    new comer

:thumbup:Just getting started. Sch'd to see the nutritionist and psych next week. Will the nutrition expect me to lose weight during the next 6 mos. If so, will that lessen my chances of getting authorization from my insurance company?

    Tortoise and the Hare

I'm just getting started. BMI 44, 5'4" @ 260lbs. First dietian and psych visit in November. Is the dietian looking for me to lose weight over 6 mo period? If so, will this lessen my chances for getting banded?
