woo hoo! finally got time to come back on and see everyone who I have missed chatting with. Things are going well here and my weight is now going down again after a looooong plateau. I ended up adopting another dog to help make me get out for more walks. I am so pleased with Slimband and there efforts to find a closer fill doctor in the area which they have just announced they got one in Sudbury. I met with him and seen Belina and Nancy and got another fill yesterday. Whats going on with the rest of you ladies these days? Is everyone having a good summer? Whats been your challenges this summer?

Doddie..I am still so thankful for your support during my "rant" along with a couple others who helped me feel better and just let me blow some steam off . I couldnt just talk to anyone about this lapband because i didnt want anyone to know who was around me so I vented here. So I will always lend a sympathetic ear to anyone else who is in my position . Funny -when you take away the food that helps you cope with stress you are feeling pretty vulnerable and agitated until you learn how to deal with it. I love this website for all the wonderful people and support and i want to say thanks again!! :thumbup::thumbup::eek::thumbup::smile::thumbup::w00t::thumbup::thumbup:

no i did say her name. So i guess that was a no no. I was hoping that the big changes would help things out with slimband and their customers. I havent had to call them since my last fill. I hope things have improved for all who is taking this journey with them.

Its taken me a little longer than I wanted to post this..dont know where the time has gone. In february I was delighted to know Slimband arranged a fill session only 2 1/2 hrs away from me and saved me a great deal of time and money so I wouldnt have to got to Toronto. Nancy was the fill nurse they flew in and she was great! My first fill at Slimband was extremely painful and took four needle insertions to find the port since mine has tilted. So needless to say I was terrified of the next fill. I was So happy with Nancy..I didnt even feel the needle!!! Plus I met a few other ladies with lapbands as well and we had a great chat. I needed a de-fill before I left because my water was getting stuck and now I think i have hit my sweet spot. Only frustrating thing is I'm not seeing a huge difference on the scale but my clothes are really baggy and I know thats that most important thing. I cant wait for the snow to GO and I can get outside more and get moving around more. How is everyone else doing on there journey?? This forum has been so quiet lately and I need to talk to my lapband ladies!!

Can anyone tell me what they did to reduce the look of the scars on their belly?

I'm just writing this because I wanted to tell the world .(pretty much) that I am now below the 200 lb mark..I havent seen the 100's in a LONG time....YIPPEE! Thanks to so many on here for giving me motivating words to keep me from being frustrated at my plateau. Life is great

Marivan I was the same as you ...I like Dr yau and he was straight to the point and he really listened to my concerns and answered them very well to ease my nerves. I didnt have much to ask him because my consultant did well with answering every one of my concerns leading up to the big day. I kinda felt awkward not having more to ask him after he left.

No..I havent heard anything about it.

Hi Susie I was just wondering what they had to do to you to get the port fixed? Mine has turned a little and I'm worried that it will become a factor later. Was it just one incision or more to fix it? Did they leave it in the same spot or move it?

Thats weird about what TLBC says about Jill. They had told me the same about my consultant Dorothy being fired for the same thing..un-proffesional behavior. Really gets you wondering. Just to let everyone know so as not to dwell on the negative and make some of you believe I'm a negative person.... Belina at Slimband has been working hard to help me with my issues and they (Slimband) are bringing the fill nurse up to Sudbury for us northerners which has me pretty excited. After almost getting squished by a transport the time I went for my first fill. I am absolutly terrified to go back to Toronto again this winter. Has anyone else here , not lose any weight after their first fill?

Can anyone tell me how much weight they lost after their first fill? I'm hoping that with the hoildays over I can get down to brass tacks a little better with my food choices. How did everyone make out over the holidays with all the get togethers and big meals?

Maybe I am a grouch.. But after recovering from my motorcycle accident and two surgeries thereafter and trying to keep my business afloat and run a household while my husband works out of town all the time...I have no time to go to Toronto for my fills and that was a point that I brought up to Dorothy who assured me again it will be fine. So now I feel with no fill dr in Sudbury I am screwed, I have paid for this surgery for nothing since I cant get my proper fills. This is a whole different experience and just dealing with the weight loss end of things and then all the other crap on top of it has absolutly drained me. I cant "eat" my stress away and I'm trying to deal with all of this in a new way and its hard..so yes I snapped. I dont have anyone else to talk to about this slimband and I thought I could come here to vent...my apologies to anyone I have offended. I guess the topper to all my stress was finding out I possibly have melanoma prior to this change in plans. Many thanks to my friends on here for being so supportive. Spanish Lady...good luck with your weight loss I'm glad you arent having a hard time.

This weekend I got so many compliments from friends and family about my weight loss...it just made me feel over the moon!! Its nice to have this finally happening after all the struggles of past yo yo diets. This New Years is going to be exciting when I do my new years resolution because dieting wont be on my list :hurray: Now I can focus on something else to conquer. All the best to everyone this holiday season!!!

Oh I get it...its my fault they cant hold up there end of their promises.???? I'm not a negative person but after dropping so much money I should feel entitled to what they say they are going to do for me and then they back out of...do you want to see the e-mails I have from them? Something tells me you are not a client but another worker from TLBC. I was happy to have a discussion with David from TLBC and he assured me that things will be changing with customer satisfaction that I am getting. David told me that the fill doctor in training who they had in Sudbury kinda just disapeared and that TLBC would now help cover the costs of my travels to T.O for fills. All I have ever wanted was to get what was promised me. Its not like I was let down once , twice or even three times...it has been more than that so I think I have a reason to get excited and to blow off some steam with others who were really kind on this website and helped pick me up in a time I was feeling so low.

I was contacted today from TLBC regarding my posts on here and they said they are going to do there best to make this a better situation..so we'll see. I have a month old e-mail from Dorothy saying that they will send me a fillperson if none is available to me but talking to David today he said that is not possible but they are willing to help with travel expenses. I usually drive to Toronto but I'm terrified now, due to the fact that I was run off the road by a transport on my way to my fill. So my thoughts are to fly next time. I hope this goes better from here on in with TLBC. Thanks for your support ladies. I'm generally a happy person just to let everyone know :biggrin:

Sorry for being snarky I just feel lost.

I have been mislead and lied to so many times and I have found others who have dealt with the same as me. I should not have to fight for everything TLBC has promised me! I didnt say I was going to go with a lawyer..I said I wished I had one in my back pocket...totally different than how you make it out. I had the highest hopes of good service (especially with the amount of money I dropped) and I just keep getting let down. And as for complaining..I think it should be known to others who come on here to research this company to find out what they could be in for. I am a business owner and I would never treat my paying customers this way. I needed to vent and I'm not the only one on here who has done so.
