  2. OkAY ..seriously???!!! How long has anyone stayed on Nexium or any other medication for that nasty stomach acid??? I have tried to go off for a day...and the constant burning started...and lasted and lasted ..I had even woken that next morning with the black acid all over my tongue and teeth...it was horrible. It has been 5.5 months since my wonderful surgery. On a positive note I am down 75lbs!! So excited about that...I am 50lbs away from my goal weight....although my family doctor thinks I should loose 70lbs. :thumbup1:

    Monday Morning Weigh In

Hello everyone....today..weigh in day....I was disappointed. Just prior to my surgery on November 10 I weighed 285 lbs. The heaviest I have ever been. Last monday I was down 50lbs. Wow..what a feeling...I started to do the calculations in my head about how much I could lose in the next few months...today...I was up 3bs....I can't begin to describe the feeling I felt. How can this be? I was very disappointed in myself.
  15. Hi, your surgery date is quickly coming....you and your aunt must be getting very excited. The best decision I have ever made about my health. I am very excited for you! I will be thinking of you. Take care

    Boughie size comparison

Does anyone know what size of bougie Dr. Aceves does? Is there a standard size that he does or does it depend on the person? Thank you so much for the picture you posted Tiff. It helped me a lot as I am a visual person.
  17. HAHAHAHAHA...oh those were all gut busters...my husband and I enjoyed them!

    Herbal tea

Like you Nana I have a hard time getting in my water so I have been drinking alot of herbal teas. My ultimate favorite is mint. I love it! It helps settle my tummy's grumblings.

  22. My husband's Christmas party..the party of the year...is coming up next week. The party is formal with a beautiful meal and entertainment to follow. Well being that I am only on day 17 and cannot eat any solids until day 31. I will be on day 24 on his party date. What should I do? How much was everyone able to eat once they started solids? Did that amount ever increase? Staying home from the party is not an option, I don't want to disappoint my husband. Any ideas? Nobody knows that I have had this surgery outside of my immediate family. I don't know if I can handle sitting through a dinner with all the trim. Has anyone cheated on their pre-op diet?:001_rolleyes:
  23. Thank you ladies....very helpful. I will be doing the mushies...I went out for supper last night with my husband and children. Was not as bad as I thought it would be. I did not miss the food...I just found it challenging to order. But I did (had onion soup without the cheese and bread) and I feel pretty good. I stepped on the scale this morning, have not weight myself until past Thursday and I am up 3 lbs. Hmmmm....I wonder if it is just because that TOM is coming up and I generally get bloated. Well no worries here....just another little moehill to get over.

    Speak now PLEASE

I agree with Tracy get a heating pad...It helped me so much. I also bought a heating blanket...I found that my body temperature dropped when I got home. I live in Canada though and am always cold now.
