  1. Hello. I am new to this community and my first post. I had my gastric bypass 2 1/2 yrs ago and I am still losing weight. I went in at 260 lbs and I now weigh 120 lbs and still losing. I WANT IT TO STOP!!!!! On January 27th 2026 I had to have major back surgery and they would not operate until I lost weight on my own. Good luck with that. This procedure was recommended by my PCP at that time. I said "Yes". My niece is a PA and thought I had gotten the band or sleeve. I told her no, I got the gastric bypass. She gasp! I said what is it? After she researchedher notes, she said one of the reasons she believes why I am not gaining weight is because when the doctor took off the portion of my stomach, it also included the acids that break down our food intake. There is a medical term for this, but I can't remember right now. I think it starts with a "P". I was in shock 😲. So not only am I still considered a "newbie" with my bypass surgery, also still healing from back surgery. Oh... did I mention I broke my ankle in 2023! 🤣 Just a mess! I am working out, drinking and eating protein, taking supplements and vitamins etc.. My question is how can I gain weight and get back to my targeted weight? I did ask my PA about a dietician to help. I really would like to do this on my own considering I hate to ask for help. Is anyone else having this problem? I do believe that this is something that needs to be apart of the introduction packet or class that is mandatory. Please help me. Thank you.
