  1. Sooo...this is all happening so fast. I am scheduled for surgery on 10/24, next Friday, and I went to my appt w/my nutritionist yesterday. Apparently they expect you to do that more than two weeks before your surgery....because the first thing they gave me was a handout that said, "Dr. Merriman's Diet - the TWO weeks before surgery!" OMG! I asked him in my consultation if he requires a liquid diet before surgery, and he said, "No, but I just don't want you gaining a whole lot before surgery." Then I find out I'm supposed to be doing this NO carb diet...high Proteins and fats diet. The nutritionist said it's to shrink my liver so it's easier to get around it during the surgery. My question: How important is this? Do you guys think I need to move back my surgery so that I can do the full two weeks of the no carb diet? Nutritionist also said that overeating in general makes your liver enlarged, not just sweets, so would I be okay if I just ate a very reasonable amount of everything...in moderation? I sure wish they had told me this sooner! Thanks in advance for your advice!!!
  2. Thank you for your well wishes. I have no choice but to recover quick and right b/c I have two babies at home to deal with! Where in LA do you want to move to?
  3. Ugh, I still think I might throw up. I had to turn it off b/c I was screaming at the TV and I didn't want my daughter to see me yelling at the television. That was HORRIBLE. And to lose like that to FLORIDA of all teams? Why not someone with a little less rivalry, mmmkay? :crying: They better get it together. Last night they did NOT play like defending National Champions.
  4. Here's her info...I saw my dad today and he confirmed her name for me... Dr. Rita Zuber 202 Highway 80 E Calhoun Family Care Clinic LLC Calhoun, LA 71225 318) 644-2573 I think my dad said fills were $200 there....Good luck to you!
  5. I'm quoting myself to be clear that I meant Go LSU Tigers, not Auburn (aren't they the tigers?)! Hahaha! I'm only kidding anyway....just "friendly" rivalry, right? I'm just crossing my fingers that we get a win against Florida tonight. Oh, and WOW at the Texas win over Oklahoma! And to the folks near Dallas...I'm in the Shreveport area, so you're not too far from me. I have in-laws in the Denton area.
  6. I'm in Louisiana....and being banded on 10/24. And this is for the person from Alabama...GO TIGERS! :tt2::tt2::tt2:
  7. Hey you guys! I'm Jenni, 30 years old and from Louisiana. I'm being banded on 10/24. Just wanted to introduce myself...
  8. I'm in BC too! I'm using Dr. Merriman. My dad got it done in Mex in July 05 and has done fine. He uses a lady in Calhoun to do fills...Zuber, maybe? I can ask if you need me to...lots of Drs won't touch Mex patients...Have you found someone here to follow up with? I can't BELIEVE we're about to pay this much for something, but I guess it's the best possible investment in our future!!!
  9. Can you link me to it? I'm just finding my way around, and I don't know how to get to either the LA board or the Oct 08 board...I'd love to be in touch with folks who are at my same stage... Thanks in advance!
  10. I'm in the Shreveport area. Nice to "meet" ya! I'm so excited to be here and hopefully lose all this weight ONE more time, FOREVER!
  11. I'm Jenni, and I'm getting banded on 10/24. I am self pay. :smile2: I am 30 and live in Louisiana. I am a stay at home mom to a 23 month old and a four month old, both girls. I am very excited to begin this new chapter in my life, and hope to learn from you all along the way! ~Jenni
