  1. Hi everyone, Have you had lap band surgery outside your own country? I'm a newspaper reporter in Austin, Texas, working on a series of articles about Medical Tourism. For the Web version of the series, I'm collecting stories from people who have traveled abroad for medical care (as a patient or a companion, for any procedure). If you choose to participate, your story will be posted online (without your e-mail address) to help tell the story from different perspectives. Our Web site is Statesman.com. If you'd like to share your story, please send me an email (cmaclaggan@statesman.com) with the following information by Sunday, Oct. 12, at midnight Central Standard Time. You may send up to five photos in Jpeg format, no larger than 500k each. You can also send me a link to video on YouTube or a similar site, but I can't handle raw video files. In the subject line, write: aas99. Name (you can go by first name, last initial, if you like): Hometown: When you traveled: Where you went: Procedure: Cost of procedure only (estimate is OK): Entire cost of trip, with travel (estimate is OK): Tell me about your experience: Thanks so much!! For those who choose to participate, I'll keep you informed on when the article is published and send you a link to your published story. Best, Corrie MacLaggan Health and human services reporter Austin American-Statesman 305 S. Congress Ave. Austin, TX 78704 cmaclaggan@statesman.com
