  1. hi nfl1 yeah i hear the "im supporting you line too". since your partner is heavy too, maybe after seeing how well you are doing she might get more interested. if my husband feels that i might find someone else once the weight is gone he has never mentioned it. although that could be an unspoken fear. i have known people to get divorces or break up once one person has lost alot of weight. i wish you success once you are banded and you will have lots of support here:thumbup:
  2. Hi waco banders i'm still here if anyone wants to chat!!
  3. congrats on finally getting your dates
  4. hi i do know what you mean and im happy that he is concerned but his worrying is causing me to worry more and i dont need to start doubting my decision. i know im making a good decision i've put this off until i felt i was ready for it. after trying for so many years on my own i know i have to do something to be healthy. im so happy i found this site, it seems like we all deal with the same stuff. its just good to post then within a few hours i get what i need to make me feel better.
  5. you brought up alot of good points. i guess most ppl dont don't think of WL surgery in that aspect.
  6. hi thx for the responses so far. from talking to him i think he is afraid something might go wrong. i guess that's a normal feeling anytime a loved one is put to sleep and operated on. i know it will be a long hour (or so) for him. i'll just have to keep talking to him, he might not ever feel comfy. thx all
  7. hi i just posted the exact same thing. my husband is nervous and doesn't want me to do it but i know it will be better in the long run. i guess once the surgery is over with no complications he will feel better. he went to the seminar with me and last night i pulled up a surgery but he said it grossed him out. we only looked at abt 2 mins. i wish i knew what to do to put him at ease but i just dont know. im hoping the ladies here that went through this can offer some advice to help us.
  8. :shades_smile:what to wear...so much to choose from i would love to wear a mid-driff top that ties around the neck with some nice jeans, strapless dresses and nice fitting shirts. im so tired of constantly stretching my shirts. i want to wear a bathing suit too- i cant even remember EVER wearing one. shopping will be more fun
  9. ok...i need some advice my husband is very scared for me to have this surgery. are any of you dealing with a very nervous family member that does not want you to do it. he is very supportive of my decision but i know he doesnt want me to do it. he is thin so i told him a thin person will not understand fully what an OW person is going through. i think he understands that i really want this, he probably just thinks it could have been done w/o surgery. i dont know how to make him feel better and i dont want his feelings to cloud my decision. my bmi is 55 o i know i need this. im nervous about the surgery too but im a high risk everyday. plz help

  11. hi all i just saw that there's a chat room on here. we should set aside maybe a 2 hour window once a week where we get together and chat. of course you dont have to chat that whole 2 hours (who has the time). We could just jump in the room to talk live, share ideas, answer questions, vent etc. let me know what you all think. welcome to the new hotties:-)
  12. hey all peggy we do have a journey ahead of us and as long we use the tool we will be healthy in the end. i do have alot to lose and im ready to start a healthy life. i looked at both options and i decided the LB made me more comfy. yes we would probably lose faster with GB but we made these decision for a reason. i would really like to lose 10-15 pounds before i start the shakes. i didn't expect to get a date so soon. i need to go buy the multi-vitamins today. i hope after the jan. surgeries start you all come back so we all know how you are doing. later
  13. hi all my date is jan 22. im excited and nervous. i look forward to getting to know everyone. daqui

  16. i went to a seminar on aug 12 in texas and just today i was able to set an appt to go in to see the nurse practitioner. it has been a long time for me too so i would have to agree with the others, go into the office and speak to someone. one thing i try to remember is that there are alot of us wanting to get this done so sometimes the staff can get a little busy. hang in there:thumbup:
  17. congrats on the new date, it's just around the corner
  18. hi all phyl- im in texas, hot and humid way too much. im so happy to have found this forum. ann congrats on that great loss and thank you for the well wishes. im a little nervous about everything but i know this is the right decision. sue i have to say congrats to you too on 28 bmi. i am so looking to improve my life. my legs have stated to hurt recently and sometimes its hurt to stand a long time. i guess the weight is starting to take a toll on me. froggi i understand how the paperwork part can drive you up the wall. hang in there it will all work out. i have to do the 3 month diet/exercise, my insurance requires it. i've been dieting the last 4-5 years but hey if 3 months can add years to my life its worth doing. inspired im in the beginning phases too. we should buddy up. i've tried everything but my highest weight lost was 34 pounds, i was sill proud of that but it didn't make me healthy. good luck on gettig your bmi down. i think that covers everything, lol. enjoy your day:tongue_smilie:
