  1. this thread is so helpful to me, im glad you all are still posting on it
  2. my dr and i did not discuss a goal weight...im glad too because his goal weight for me might not be what i want for myself. someone has in their siggy that their goal weight is not a number but a feeling. after im under 200lbs i'll see what that feel likes. i haven't been there in years.
  3. i like the idea of weigh-ins, im ok with anyday
  4. thanks to all who have responded so far...im sure there will be more posts to come i know im not cheating but to be told that was like wow thats how you see me...i thought i was trying to get healthy. there's lots of ppl who have the band and still weigh the same if not more. i know i still have to work and change my eating...its a lifestyle change.
  5. that made me smile
  6. welcome more than likely most of us are on pre-op diet...how is that going for you?
  7. you know i wondering if the overweight people who say these things are a little jealous.....maybe envious is a better word. i know years ago i said i would never have surgery but i think deep down i was not brave enough to do it yet. maybe thats how she and others feel. thanks for responding kristine
  8. hi im in hewitt and i want to start a buddy walking group. if you are interested please come walk with me at the hewitt park. let me know if you are interested and we can setup a time. :frown:
  9. :frown: well i was on the phone with my sister today and she was telling me about her loss so far from 318 to 289 which i think is great. anyway she said i have to start working harder so that you don't beat me since you are cheating. now she said this while laughing but i know in her mind im cheating. i just can't figure out why people think we are cheating. that could be why people keep their surgeries to themselves...to avoid other people's comments/opinions. i asked my husband abt it and he was like yeah it is cheating, i spent 30 mins (wasted time) trying to explain why i KNOW this is not cheating. So my question is deep down do you think you are cheating by getting the band? if i'm a cheater so be it...
  10. Its great to hear abt all of the stories so far
  11. i just started pre-op today...i've done these shakes off/on trying to prepare for the real deal. its here now and i will need support as others will during their pre-op. i just bought the magic bullet last night....share ideas, share anything pertaining to this diet. let's make this as easy as we possibly can.
  12. almost forgot.....congrats on the sucessful surgery
  13. i got tears in my eyes when i read that. it might seem cheesy and im not usually so emotional. i just really needed to see that at that moment. sometimes something so simple can really help someone. thx
  14. hi i didnt think there was going to be many banding around the same time as me, im glad you all posted. i started official pre-op today and i go for testing tomorrow. my diet consists of 3-4 Protein shakes and veggies only no extras. im going to ask them if i can have the Jello, sf popsicles etc...hopefully those will be ok. other banders had them included in their pre-op diets. 14 days left.....i have wanted this day so bad and now that it here im a bundle of nerves lol.
  15. well said freedom, i feel as if you were talking to me too
  16. :smile:hi future july bander here just being nosey. congrats to you all on your success. daqui
  17. hi like you i hate the shakes but i have been using Max Protein from GNC. it's light and is not hard to get down, no after taste either. 118 cals, 2 fat, 3 carbs, 22 protein per serving they have choc, van, straw, cook & cream- i've only tried choc if you go to gnc they will give you a sample before you buy....try to find one you like good luck:thumbup:
  18. hi greytz im happy to hear that you had a safe surgery. we have recently kicked off our july banding so its good to hear stories from fellow banders to ease the nerves a little. happy losing daqui

  20. bump july 2 banders, how are you??
  21. i figured i would give this july 2 thread a bump so that we can wish everyone safe surgeries on 7/2.
  22. hi i wanted to start this because i know we all might have things we are buying for after our surgeries. i have a few things on my list like the gas-x, smaller utensils, sippy cup. what are you all buying? it might be something that someone can use but never thought about. thanks for sharing
  23. i went to gnc yesterday and i found a shake that i actually like. its called max protein (blue jug). it comes in choc/van/straw/cookies & cream. i only have the choc for now. it was $40. to me it does not leave a nasty after taste and its not thick. i just put it in water for now. i'll try the unjury today for lunch. just wanted to share that in case anyone is still looking for something.
