  3. lisa who let you into my head???? your words are my thought exactly. i have been what if-ing myself since i got my surgery date. don't get me wrong im happy i finally got it but i cant seem to stop the what ifs. i have noticed that s the days tick away im getting more at ease. like you it took me a few years to even decide to do this so i know its the right thing. not only that i've tried the other ways, i just could not get control of my eating habits. we are all taking chances with having surgery but we all take chances daily by being overweight. im sure the majority of us are a little nervous and thats ok.
  4. tessiekay what brand of drinks are those you found?
  5. hey toot i start my pre-op on the 9th and it will be for 14 days. im on pretty much what everyone else is doing, 3-4 Protein drinks a day. i can also do a salad or veggies no extras, lol, i love the extras. we really need a recipe thread under the july heading for these shakes. i've tried a few and i still can't find anything that i can tolerate. i just ordered a sample of the
  6. hi im being banded on july 23. i wanted to see who else was so we could get to know each other. we will more than likely be going through our liquid phases together and it will be great to share ideas/stories. daqui

  9. hi to be honest i am just a little, i guess because i have never seen myself at a normal weight. i think im prob just scared of everything now that i have my date. i keep thinking is this really about to happen for me. i've seen people on tv who have lost weight yet still see themselves as that overweight person and i dont want to be like that. whatever weight i lose will no doubt make me healthier than i am now and thats what i want to be.:w00t:

  14. ok im not sure if all approval letters look the same but i just received mine. on the coverage timeframe my letter states 5/25/09-5/25/09, which makes no sense to me because that's the same day and i received it today. now is that date supposed to mean that you are only approved if your dates are between those two dates. it's after hours so i can't call right now. i was just wondering if other aetna letters looked this way or should it actually be different dates there. thanks

  16. hi waco, tx here. still waiting on insurance approval. looking forward to getting to know ya'll, lol.
  17. wow when i read these my heart goes out to all of you including me. i know we have all had these moments and they were very embarrassing......so here's a few of mine. *at a family gathering my dad told everyone i would be fine as long as i had a plate of food in front of me- he said it like 3x to make sure everybody heard him. i had to finally tell him to shutup. *at my DH aunts house she told me not to sit in a chair at her dining room table-she tried to play it off and say the chair was loose-yeah right *in high school a boy told me if i lost 40-50 lbs i would be super fine, he considered himself a friend so i wasnt mad at him *once i got duct tape and went around my thighs to see if i could make my legs smaller-ouch, i will never do that again when i look at myself i want to see a healthier me and do things normal weighted people can do.
  18. hi all thx for the invite....i have not gotten a date yet but i should be getting a call any day now....hopefully:laugh:

  20. hi mandi i have started the preop diet today. it will not be as restrictive as my dr has outlined. i will save that for the 2 weeks before surgery. im hoping to lose at least 20 pounds before surgery. im at 335 right now and i was 327 when i first started so my doc is not happy. i do not want to get told that my surgery has to be pushed back.
  21. hi all i was just wondering if any of you are planning to start the pre-op diet early. my main reason for thinking about it is because my bmi is over 50. i've read on here where some people have had to do up to 3 months on it.
  22. hi txteacher i have not heard of dr smith in waco. is he at providence? i just recently found out that providence does the surgery but i already started with scott and white in temple. we are a very small group and i hope we grow and become more active. good luck on your insurance approval.
  23. hi all i have 3 more appts/months to go so i will more than likely be an april bandster too. im glad people are already posting, we have awhile to get to know each other. i have aetna as well and yes they can be a hassle. i agree dont miss any appts. we have less than 90 days and it will go by fast.
  24. hi karen i have not been banded yet i have 3 more months on the diet to go. i will be getting banded hopefully in early april. i am going through scott and white in temple. if you want to contact them i can give you the numbers to call.
