    Questions - Sleeve 2/10/13

I had revision on 12/9/13 and I did have a little acid issue post surgery (only when I moved on to puréed foods), but a simple med change from prescription Pepcid (20mg) to Prilosec OTC handled it. Very happy with the sleeve so far. Good Luck.

    Damage to Sleeve

I'm nearly six weeks out from band/sleeve revision and I love the sleeve so much more. No unpredictability of what will go down and what will get stuck, no more puking (it was daily for me). My surgeon (who also did my band surgery) won't even perform them anymore.

    OK....how did you know.....

Wendy's Chili mimicked dumping for me. It was awful. I had to throw up, sweating, severe stomach pain and I nearly fainted. I won't be having it ever again. I'm nearly 5 weeks out.
  4. I had Band to Sleeve revision on 12/9/2013. I had my 1 month post-op yesterday and have lost 36.6lbs. Able to move to any foods just slowly and carefully. Surgery Weight: 306 Today: 269.4
  5. I had the same situation 2 weeks out. My doctor had prescribed Pepcid, but it wasn't until I switched to Prilosec OTC that I found relief. The Pepcid just didn't work for me.
  6. It was not the first time I have had Chili. It's kind of been a go to for me since advancing to Puree'd foods but for whatever reason my little tummy was not having it today. After posting this I called my doctors office and she said it sounded very similar to dumping syndrome, and that it would pass. I asked her about a leak and she said I'm far enough out that I would have to do something major for that to happen. So that was reassuring. I guess my PSA for the day is don't venture to far from a bathroom when eating even an "old" stand by!
  7. Today immediately after eating I had the worst lower abdominal pain/cramp/gas after eating about 2 OZ of puree'd chili. The discomfort was so intense it made me vomit. I'm 4 weeks out from surgery and have eaten this several times since I was moved to puree'd food two weeks ago. I've not had any other gas pains at all during recover, so my head immediately goes to OMG a leak! I literally almost passed out. I was able to have a BM and the super intense discomfort has subsided but I still feel funky and like a burning sensation. What did I do to myself?!
  8. Wearing my wedding ring. I haven't been able to wear it since my son was born in 2002.

    No pre-op diet?

I had no pre-op diet except clear liquids the day before. Mine was a band-sleeve revision (all in one procedure) and I had no issues with gas.
  10. I was banded May 19, 2010. Revision in one procedure December 9, 2013. Surgery Weight: 306 Current Weight: 273.4

    Hot Tub

I was cleared for baths, pool and hot tub at my 2 week checkup.
  12. I stayed one night because I was a revision patient, but typically it's an outpatient procedure with my doctor.

  15. I was banded on May 19th and have eaten Enchiladas. It sounds like your problem had nothing to do with sliming or PB'ing, but that you had Diarrhea. Maybe I misunderstood. It sounds like it didn't have anything at all to do with your band, but rather after eating such a limited diet, the richness of the dish didn't agree with your system.
