  1. Congrats, you will not be sorry. I was so nervous I almost backed out the weekend prior to my surgery and I am so thankful I didn't. I was banded on Sept. 15th 08 and I weighed 434lbs at time of surgery and I am now at 325lbs. I still have a lot of work ahead of me but I will get there and you will to. Don't give up and don't get discouraged. I wish you all the best. Also don't sell yourself short if you think someone don't want you because of your size then that person is not worth being with. When you find the right person for you it don't matter about your size, shape, clor or anything else.
  2. Hello I am new to the site and I just wanted to say Hi! I was banded on September 15th just over 2 weeks ago and my Dr. had me on high protein and low carbs 2 weeks prior to surgery and in the 2 weeks prior to and the 2 weeks after surgery I have lost 35lbs and I could not be more excited. I started with a BMI of 54 and my Dr. is totally against RNY and at no time ever did he discourage me from the band.
