  1. I’ve had like 5-6 laparoscopic abdominal surgeries plus two open ones and this one has kicked my butt. It was including a large esophageal hernia repair also though. IDK but the pain has been relentless not as bad as night of surgery but not good. I hope to not have to use as many opioids after a week maybe but I’m on them anyway because of chronic pain from osteoporosis fractures. It’s hard for me to stand up straight to walk. I have 5 abdominal holes? How many do most have?

  3. @Candace4283 I have on hand Ondansetron subliminal that helps so much for nausea? I’m not dealing with that now but so much pain but it’s only 3 days out. I’m trying cream of shrimp soup/milk to thin…blended…little protein powder and bay seasoning and protein drinks mostly.

  5. It’s my first morning at home w/o the Dilaudid pain med in IV with the oxy in between. What a painful experience for me. It’s almost not fair to make you feel like you can walk with out almost no pain being on the meds in the hospital and then not have them to cope at home? I do have like 9 pills of oxy to pick up! For me it’s ruff so far. Sorry bearing bad news…just my experience so far. Thanks for asking. I Pray the day gets better. I did sleep last night which I didn’t in the hospital for 2 nights. I wasn’t given stool softeners in hospital but brought my own, it helped plus gas pills.

  12. I’m sorry this doesn’t really answer your concerns. Tried deleting but can’t.
  13. @buildabetteranna Hi, I just had my sleeve done yesterday 10/21 w/hernia repair. For me only…I have to be truthful the surgery came off great but recovery has been very ruff. It almost didn’t happen , it was approved the morning of because of primary not following through. The pain level has been high but today it’s been more easily managed. Still there especially if not on schedule. Doc came in today and showed me pics of operation…neat..going home tomorrow! The diet before and after it’s going to be hard for me. Not use to limiting myself on anything. Chit chat later maybe?

  20. @Karla83 I’m one day after surgery and that’s definitely true for me and it’s only sips of water. I can feel it. As soon as the water hits my banana stomach…I feel the pain. Mine is like intense muscle spasms. Liquid pain meds about every 3-4 hours. For me it doesn’t take it away. Still very uncomfortable. Walking already and my pain started back up really intense once got back in bed! This is a short period of time compared to a lifestyle change! Where the majority of pain is though is where my hernia was repaired.

  22. Sorry, I thought not right recipe to be putting on a Bariatric site. I tried to delete it but couldn’t. It definitely sounds yummy! I’m in the holding room waiting for surgery at 2:20pm…..

  27. My first 4 days are total liquid then thicken liquid, then something like cottage cheese, yogurt etc, then purée meat , veggies Uck! All within a months time.
  28. Here I am down to the finish line waiting and waiting to hear from my insurance if I’m approved for my surgery tomorrow @12pm. My primary and I have butted heads because the office didn’t send the request until 10/17 and sent it in as standard when I begged them to send it in as expedited???? If it doesn’t get approved by 9:30am in the morning it will probably be rescheduled. It takes 2hrs to get to the hospital. My suffering with the pre op diet, I feel would have been for nothing. But I have to still plan for it in case I’m on for it. AGGRAVATING.
  29. I wonder if because I’m using my iPhone
  30. @jullie I’m looking maybe I’m not on the correct area? This is what mine looks like?
