October 2024 Surgery Buddies
I'm starting my purée foods stage today. I'm eating tuna mashed with low fat yogurt. I'm just glad it's not soup.

October 2024 Surgery Buddies
I think I hit a stall earlier than I was hoping. I was 109.6kg on the morning of surgery and went down to 103 a week later and I'm hovering there. It's just frustrating! I know the stall will break, but I'm constantly thirsty, still wearing compression socks and doing the blood thinner injections and not seeing any progress. I know it will fall off eventually, I just want to rant for a moment.

Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first
New NSV! I got a Pandora bracelet as a gift a few years ago and have built up a collection of charms. (8 or 9) I had to take off 5 of them because they bracelet was too tight! Now I can wear all of them and the bracelet is still a bit loose!

Slightly Dizzy = Hunger?
I generally don't like electrolyte drinks so it's definitely going to be as and when. I really prefer the taste of OG River Thames. (tap water)

October 2024 Surgery Buddies
Hi Karla, I'm 9 days post op. I had all the same worries. But the whole point of the pre-op diet is to lose weight quickly. As long as you stick to it, it's almost impossible that you won't lose anything. I know about cravings. Before surgery, I would have killed for a big mac. I was on a prolonged weight loss and lover shrink diet so it was 12 WEEKS (yes 12 weeks) of liquids. Once the first week passed, I got kind of used to it. Post Op, I just want anything solid becaue I'm so sick of soups. It does get better. You're on the right track and you can do this. We believe in you!

My pre-op diet was 12 WEEKS of milk, skimmed milk powder or protein powder and soup.

Accepted For Surgery! ,

Report Your WINS ..What is your today's win???
I finally got my mobile phone company to sort out my problem! But also, for two days in a row, I woke up feeling normal (7 days post-op) with no pain and ready to do things. (Like do battle with O2)

Slightly Dizzy = Hunger?
Thanks for the tip. I just had some water and my usual medications and had a random dizzy spell when I turned my head. I think I might try and add some electrolyte powder and try again in a few miutes

October 2024 Surgery Buddies
No it just felt like I was OK again because i satsified my body's need for food. It's weird. It seems like I don't actually know what hunger feels like. I just used to assume I was hungry because I wanted to eat. Now, I don't want to eat and don't know what it feels like to be hungry.

Slightly Dizzy = Hunger?
I'm now 6 days post op and woke up feeling "normal" for the first time in 6 days. As in, not immediately in pain, actually ready to get out of bed and start the day. I haven't really bothered much with food since I don't want it and just want water. I went for a walk today and started to feel a little dizzy and then realised I wanted so food so I went home and had a protein shake. Dizziness was gone and I felt better. Getting water in all day. Then about 6 hours later, I had the same feeling, had some soup and it was gone. I genuinely have no idea what hunger actually feels like. I think forn39 years I just assumed I was hungry because I wanted to eat. How do I know when I actually need to eat anymore?

October 2024 Surgery Buddies
Today I woke up feeling "normal". Almost how I felt pre-op. No pain, no stiffness. So I decided to go for a walk. It's now so weird to just have normal hip pain (overdid the walk for sure). I actually felt hungry as well. But this feeling soon ended after a few teaspoons of soup.

30 in 4 days!!!!!
Stunning! Happy birthday!

Finally on the other side!
Oh that makes sense. That wound has the most bruising. I think it might just look worse because of the purple suture glue that is still on there.
-
Finally on the other side!
I know something bruising after surgery is normal, but is it normal that only one of my incisions has bruising and is really tender and feels more sunken in than the other incisions? I'm assuming that's the "main one" and that's where my stomach is, but it doesn't seem to be getting an better.

Almost time...
I'm feeling better for the most part. I took a 45 minute walk today, i was able to eat twice today and I'm not feeling so tired. Only have a few pain issues where it hurts when I cough, and a pretty gnarly bruise where my stomach is
-
It took literally forever, but I finally did it!!!
Well done! Thats great!

Finally on the other side!
Last night, i was laying in bed playing "What's that creaking coming from: Stomach, Fan, or home invader"
-
Finally on the other side!
I'm taking lactulose which is supposed to be a softener and laxative at the some time. It works better when hydrated so I'm trying to just drink water today.

Almost time...
Hello! I had a gastric sleeve on Monday. So I'm still 4 days post-op! Welcome to the group!

Finally on the other side!
My stomach is making a lot of noises so I know something is happening in there. I've been working on just drinking water with the occasional herbal tea as well. (All cleared by my surgeon to drink herbal tea) and based on my urine, I'm not dehydrated anymore, but I keep working to make sure I stay that way. I love stickers so adding stickers to my water bottle also.males it more fun to drink.
