  1. Patti You didn't say how much was on your plate but it sure sounded more than 3-4 ounces. I still am having to measure to keep from over eating. Good news thats what fills are suppose to help with as you've figured out. I have found one treat that I've decided for now I will allow and thats sugar free fudge cickles, they are 40 calories and much to my surprise very good. I treated myself to one for Valentines day and didn't have to feel bad abut 40 calories. I would think though your dr will agree that if your able to eat so much its fill time. I am having a hard time with the mental side where I get full so fast and yet my mind thinks I should eat as much as before to achieve satisfaction. Glad my mind can't win this one or I'd be blowing back up over night. Don't be to hard on yourself, knowing that it was more than you should have been able to eat and letting your dr know is what the bands all about.
  2. I was just banded in January with the second generation band. I admit I trusted my Dr on this I should ad that if I hadn't trusted him to start with I would of had a different Dr. I'm happy with my weight loss so far, not sure if the band is it or me or a combo but I am very happy with over 20 lbs gone in less than a month. Don't get me wrong I'm no sheep and I do question drs but I'm comfortable with my dr choosing the second generation band for me
  3. Now that is something I DEFINATELY want to avoid if I can ......I'm glad its passed
  4. I always assumed it was just a "me" thing since my gf and I were working on a treadmill once and she said her chest hurt, I whipped it off put it on her and her rate was way high. When I was thin many moons ago my veins gave easily, now they can't hardly be found under all the padding so I figured the one I had was probably having similar problems. I should add that I just seem to be one of those people who things are always whacky with. I figure it will work fine for you especially seeing its bye "Jake: LOL:lol:
  5. Let me know how accurate it is please, I had one in about the same price range only it was always way off. My heart rate was always much higher than it read so I'm a bit leary trusting one. Even my elyptical is pretty inaccurate until my rate is way beyond aerobic
  6. Thanks for the advice now I need some more. I've been all over this site trying to find out what pb-ing feels like, I read about it all the time but have yet to find a physical definition, if you don't mind I'd be really thankfull
  7. With all the commercials during a show, Brita, 24 hr fitness the gum and all the products they sell on the website I would think they make major money. I have to admit I bought the green bottles, the gum and if I could afford it I'd have the calorie in out arm band that measures everything.
  8. I told my hubby the same thing, he might be a sweetie but I'd of killed him if he delibrtately did that. I hope the blue guy was about to loose it and knew it and just made it look like he did it for her for the game play part of it.
  9. I received the hospital bill yesterday, it was for a little over 31,000.00 I was shocked
  10. Sharon, they are Whey protein bullets that are 42 grams of protein in just 3 ounces, I do 1/2 at a time. my dr said that if I can get in at least 60 grams of protein I'd be ok so this makes a huge difference. Later after I'm eating more I will still want them for those times I know I won't eat right if I'm not gonna be home to eat and things like that. Here is where I geyt mine Liquid Protein Information and Product Listings - Fitness First USA I've tried grape and liked them and am waiting o the blue raspberry to get here today. They have a referral program so if you'd use my name Saundra Rotherham and my # 0125199 I'd appreciate it if you drcide to try them. Theres also a code to save like $6.00 its OCONUS1. When I figured out the cost of the shakes versus these and the amount of protein these were much cheaper. I like them better than I like the chewable bugs bunnys but trying to explain taste I suck at kind of a sweeter than you expect taste. Hope this helps:thumbup:
  11. ss Sharon, at least you found out whats going on and can fix it now. The Protein is really helping me not be so hungry and measuring everything and putting it on smaller plates is helping me get use to the visual better. I try to eat the foods I'm allowed to with more protein in them since they seem to keep me full longer. I'm allowed pureed navy Beans and they seem more filling than most things on my list. Hang in there it works out, we aren't the first ones to get this wrong. Its a lifestyle change with lots to learn No gym here, dr said walking and side twists only for now. Heart rate under 120. I guess each dr has his own pace and since I'm 20lbs post op I'm not comlpaining
  12. I can't have tamales yet but I did call the nurse the other day since I fordot to ask at post op appt to see when I could bathe, and the answer was go for it. The wait was till they knew my incessions (sp) were healing. I guess everyones diet is differant, the closest I get to solids is soft boiled egg
  13. I haven't been released to exercise yet like crunches and things, walking mostly and he doesn't want my heart rate over 120. Has anyone else been allowed to exercise yet? I imagine I would be a lot hungrier if I were exercising. When he explained at my post op it made sense now after all 101 questions I asked I only remember him saying body needs to heal and I have lost a lot of weight fast, and somehow that added up to the keeping my heart rate under 120 for now..... I feel like I always come up with the strange ones.........oh and taking baths again feels so good yummmmmmm
  14. As my swelling goes down my belly is roaring more so I'm focusing on measuring what I eat into 4 ounces and keeping protein high, seems to help me a lot. Not sure what it will be like by the time I am to get my first fill but all I can do is one day at a time for now and this is working for me. When it doesn't I'll work on finding something else. Good Luck
  15. In our area it didn't air, they put on a basket game instead we were really mad. Have to wait till Tuesday to watch it according to the web site :cursing:
  16. I don't hate it like I do the chewables but I did find it was easier for me right after surgery than the shakes I had been doing preop so I'm gonna stick with them and just switxh the flavors around, I think I've pver done grape everything. Time to spice it up LOL
  17. WVU I went looking just now to comapre prices on bullets and had no luck navigting on the website you listed, I'm always looking to make sure I'm getting them as cheap as possible, I think I am but it pays to be sure
  18. It sounds like what moms making you might work, I can't say I love the bullits but they help so much especially now that the shakes have gotten harder to drink and those have less protein. Dr says as long as I'm getting right around 60 grams bullits and whatever thats all that matters. Right now I'm trying to figure out what flavor to go with next. I've been doing grape everything and am getting tired of it. Moms usually can find a way to make the worst things taste good. Good Luck
  19. Have you tried the protein bullits? My dr said I shouldn't loose any hair at all. I found a place I can get them online and have a code to make shipping cost $1.00, if your interested let me know and I'll post it.
  20. My dr had a few suggestions for gas relief other than Gas X hes suggested Mylanta and Maalox, and of course I hate them ughhhh what has seemed to help is I've cut back on my Protein shake a lot and am doing the bullet and since he just added vegatable Soup I've been eating 3-4 ounces draining the Fluid off thats helped my bowels move. Wheres the blushing smiley:blushing: I'm also allowed to che Fiber choice which I think they taste really good in the mixed berry. Of course this is what I was told and you should always at least call your drs nurse. If anyone is finding that your tummys are acting like shock absorbers while in a car and have come up with any suggestions I'd love to hear them. I've tried the pillow but thats now cutting it. I really feel like if I didn't have so far to go and so many other appts my stomach would be much happier than it is, of course its mad right now cause it just made the over an hour trip home from my eye surgeons.
  21. Sounds like everyone is slowly getting a little bit of normalcy back. I forever am greatfull I can go around in my PJ 's sp comfy. Jeans at this point hold no appeal Looking forward to a real nice hot bath here too somehow a shower isn't cutting it Now that I'm staying away from milk and DH knows not to sneak it in my Soups I should start saying good bye to the gas as well. The only good news I've been told about that is some of us have a hard time passing the usual ways but we will eventually absorb it and be done with it. I'd love to be able to burp right now even if it isn't lady like LOL
  22. I just got back from my post op appt, a little ways out but they had to cancel the original. My Dr said I'm doing good was explaining that I could absorb more like 30 grams at a time and his belief is a 10 - 1 ration, like I'm doing right at 60 grams of protein then I can go to 600 calories although that he said is a lot when today is day 1 of mushies and really doesn't want me worrying about calories yet. He said protein first then veggies and go from there. I know I started this thread and I hope it stays informative. Good Luck everyone, Get Healthy n Thin
  23. Gabi Maybe instead of diluting dince its the after taste you don't like have something to there to swallow afterwards, I don't know what it is that makes me like them, but I think if its the after taste I would try what I do with the chewables bugs bunny and thats have crystal light to sip while I chew it, I hate those things. Now heres real strange. I'm still on post op haven't made it to mushies yet but that might change in a little bit getting ready to go see dr but for now I hate the smell of almost ALL foods. I can smell everyones breath hey all stink its whacked. I think I can only remember thinking my DH had bb in all these years now he and the rest of the world suddenly ewwww, go figure
  24. I would have gladly have put them to use. There is no way you could have know that, so don't fell bad. personally I think they rank way high to the chewable vitamins and the other diet I'm on and as I said earlier the vein side of me said earlier, I want to lose weight no hair. Thanks though, its a very nice thought. I have read on here where others have purchased different powered forms they didn't like and they past along to others to try. personally 1 1/2 twice a day works well for me.
  25. Not sure what you mean, but my Dr, his nurse, the diatician (sp)and even the independant psych eval person recommends them. The nurses at the hospital did as well reminding me that my body right now can only absorb 20 grams at a time, thus the split.
