My post op is tomorrow so maybe I will get to add some new things like mushies to my diet. I was surprised that I could have stage 1 baby fruit and sugar free pudding right now but to be honest its not something that makes me think of sweets that my body wants, its food food. I had a sudden increase of gas the last 2 days and just found out my DH added 1% milk to my soup so I took a prevacid even though the Dr didn't think I would need them anymore and am staying with chicken broth today to see if that could have been it. Milk and I haven't always gotten alone and the sudden extra gas has been crazy. Hopefully this explains it and he is never allowed to put milk in my food again. Be well everyonr, will let you know what he says about baths tomorrow

I know what you mean I'm happy about the loss just wondering if when swelling is completely down and no restriction what will happen then. I've seen where a lot don't loose. Oh well I guess time will tell, in the meantime I keep working for it

I was told showers only, and man would I love a bath. The nurse said that sitting in water could cause in fection so when I finally get to go for post op Tuesday I'm hoping for lots of good news, a bath being one and something added to my diet. I've only lost 10 lbs since surgery and for what I'm eating that seems so small, I dunno I guess the body has to adjust. I'm surprised we didn't all go into starvation mode but from what DH reads to me the protein and fluids play a huge role there

Don't forget OCONUS1 for the promo code to save some more money. I like that they give 2 free ones with the purchase and a fitness magazine as well. I can't personally say if its any goos though, after some eye surgery I will be able to but in the meantime the magazine is in the read later pile. Your welcome, I felt bad for the typo, I don't catch them as easily as I used to for now. Thanks again and I hope they work as well for you as they seem to be me.

Sharons I'm so sorry your not feeling any better, maybe you need some phonigirin (sp), my follow up got postponed, all this bad weather has made a mess, I just got internet, cable and phones back. I have to stay on the diet I'm on longer :scared: but oh well I'm just glad I have the bullets, I think they are helping keep the hunger down to a low roar and helping with my energy level. Not much energy to get from chicken broth and popsicles, I thought I'd cry when appt was moved back but I got a grip finally. I do find myself thinking of food now. Healthy food though, I guess my bost is saying its time for something like mashed potatoes or oatmeal, whatever comes next. I do hope everyone feels better ASAP

Protein Bullets 42 grams protein in 3 fl oz
Sorry the storms knocked out cable, internet and my phone so I just now saw my mistake. I typed both and it should have been 24 with 2 free at Liquid Protein Information and Product Listings - Fitness First USA Thaniks for pointing out my typo. I was banded on the 23rd and when my dr was releasing me he was real glad I had ordered them. I drinl half in the morning and half in the evening. It helps with the hunger some to which right now has turned out to be a major thing, my post op was canceled with all this bad weather so I'm still on broths till I see dr Tuesday now, I might be strange but I don't find them hard to drink at all, at least not the grape ones, thats the flavor I've stuck with so far in most things. If you all do oreder and don't mind I'd really appreciate it if you used me as a referall, my name is Saundra Rotherham my Customer Number its 0125199. With the diet I'm on phase 1 I've been having a shake mid day so thats 42 from bullet and 15 from shake, not bad considering I'm stuck for a few more days but I gotta follow the rules. Once again sorry for the typo abd thanks for catching it. Be thinner

Hopefully bean soup gets added soon for me, tomorrow is my follow up if this crazy weather permits. I didn't know Loratab came in a liquid, please tell me it was nasty, I had the big ole pills I had to cut in half and my tummy never seemed happy about getting. The Gas X has helped me a lot, also I drink 1 can of chicken broth a day to get my sodium and that seems to help the bowels move some, mostly loose but movements a good thing in my book. I never thought I'd be so happy to pass gas that I go around telling everyone I just did, it hurts to laugh so maybe down the road I will. LOL I'm feeling my body get better each day. I know the Dr ran into a few things extra so I'm not surprised I'm still having some problems but I feel like I'm probably where I should be. I work super hard on getting my protein and my fluids and from what I've read those are the most important right now. Hopefully he will be encouraged with my progress tomorrow and so will your drs be with yours. Our bodies have been through a lot and need some major TLC eight now. Sp off to have the first half of my daily bullet. Good Luck everyone

Sounds like your doing really well Sharons, my diet sounds a bit more restiricted than yours, I have to admit my sister asked me today if I could have strained bean with bacon soup but not on the list yet. I am using Gas X and thats helped tremendously, I had gas in places I didn't know gas could get to. Walking and Gas X has really mad a difference though. Keep up the good work, sounds like your doing just fine. Has anyone weighed yourself? I did and so far I've lost a lb a day. :cursing: no exercise yet, follow up is Thuesday if weather allows.

Not necessarily all 64 ozs is water, shakes, jellos, popsicles all count as water. I think the only thing I had since I came home that didn't count was sugar free pudding and when I found out it didn't count as water I didn't have anymore of them. I'm home around the clock right now which probably helps me get in 64 as well. Don't get me wrong its not easy but sipping crystal light out of a cup has made it a lot easier then when I"m hungry I have a shake and thos 11 count as well. By the end of the day if I'm a few short I know I will be waking up since me and loratab aren't getting along and drinking more. Is anyone else having trouble with Loratab?

I used that little 1 ounce measure cap they gave me in the hopsital (same thing as they give you with most liquid meds over the counter) it caused me to sip not swallow and today was much easier on me. I had a shake, jello, a bullet, water, chicken broth, crystal light and baby food pears and never felt that harsh pain once today. I was also able to get my 64 in more easily. I did notice the one time I drank from a water bottle I drank to much. I had been using a sippiee cup before banding and thought I had the concept down but evidentally not for this time frame. It will probably be fine later after some swelling goes away but for now its me and my ounce container with everything, and taking about 5-7 sips to finish it

Protein Bullets 42 grams protein in 3 fl oz
Hi Denise, My DH is looking to see if the bullet specifies on it anywhere. He just told me its not written anywhere. I've been screwing the lid back on for later in the day I literally do 1 1/2 ounces at a time. I did some research on absorption and most people who aren't working out extremely can only absorb approx 20 grams at a time, so I do 1/2 a grape bullit in the early morning a shake with 15 grams around noonish and the other 12 of the bullit in the evening. This way I'm getting 57 grams without food and since I'm just at the stage 2 phase thats pretty good. Mt dr thinks they are a real good idea for at least the first 3 months and then on tose days you know you probably won't get to eat right. I also think the grape one tastes better cold. I haven't tried the other flavors yet and probably won't. Gppd Luck

Hello from WV
LOL that was cute, So even though I have some hunger pains but mostly gas, I should just do my best to concentrate on clears and not worry about protein shakes things like that until my tummy is a bit less mad at me?

Hello from WV
Did any of you get that full feeling after only 3 ounces of fluids? Excuse my manners, DH picked me up some Gas-X and I'm finally starting to pass a little. So embrassing but I'll keep taking them to get rid of that gas pain, now if I could just figure out the fullness feeling

They gave me a little one ounce container in the hosptal and said it should take 3 sips to drink, for me it took more like 6 sometimes 7. I've pulled them back out this morning and am gonna try sipping slower. It might take longer but hopefuly I won't feel that tightness in my chest.

How many ounces are you able to handle at once, I'm having a hard time doing more than 3 which means its taking forever to get my fluids in. The shake tasted so good when I had some this morning. So did black cherry jello. I think hospitals get a deal on lemon and orange YUCK. He said he tried but I was poofed up a long time, I'm guess thats why theres still some gas in there to drive me nute. That and I've never been good at passing gas or burping which would probably help. Enjoy the shake this evening. I'm gonna try to increase the ouces in a minute and see if I feel less restricted. I know I don't want to throw up again.

Hello from WV
Hey everyone, I am in band land now. I'm glad but still hurting an awful lot. The gas pains suck, but not everyone gets them. My dr had to do a few more things than expected so I got more gas than usual. He said my liver was much larger than he expecter, he doesn't do the 2 weel pro opt now I'm wishing I had done it anyways. He said it got in the way and was nicked and since my blood platelettes were low he took longer time making sure liver was ok. Plus I had the hiatal hernia repair. Even though I feel kinda crappy right now I have NO regrets. The strangest part was I didnt expect to feel any restriction but I do, I guess from all the swekking, Its taking me forever to get my 64 ozs in. I started using the bullest this morning I did half and then later some [rotein shake. I will do the other half of the bullet in a few hours, gotta get my protein. This is embrassing but he said my stomach muscles were paper thin and that when I cando exercises scrunches and the like are at the top of my list. Banded

Anyone from WV???
Congrats football mom, I'm home and mending, I did get the gas YUCK. The night of the surgery I burped till I threw up the jello I had eaten. I'm not feeling hungry, but I have had half a bullest and 1/4 protein shake this morning. Three punces seems to be all I can handle at a time. I guess that will change as the sweeling goes down.

Bandland here we are. I was unlucky with the gas as well, its up in my shoulders and walking doesn't seem to make it go away so far. I just started phase 2 a few hours ago. I can't drink much at a time without being full. I just had 1 1/2 of the bulest and earlier 1/4 protein shake. It seems like I spens all my time trying to get 64 pz in. He took care of my hiatal hernia but my liver was in the way to. He said he was able to fix it and since my blood platelettes were so low he took extra time in there. Being home in my own bed is much nicer. I came home on Loratabs and they almost seem useless other than making me sleepy. I'm glad we are all doind well. :w00t:

Protein Bullets 42 grams protein in 3 fl oz
I don't have any documentation for you but I have read in a lot of places that its a myth that we can only absorb so much a time. If I wasn't straining to type this I'd google it for you. I know that I was told the first 3 months are when we usually don't come close, so thats where I'm focusing on, after that I'll probably still need to keep them around, I know when I go to drs appts and such it messes with my protein and fill days are back to the liquid diet. I like the grape, haven;t tried the others yet though. Went with what I knew I liked best.

Protein Bullets 42 grams protein in 3 fl oz
Yesterday was my education session with my Drs nurse right before my surgery on the 23rd. One of the things she highly recommended was a product thet gives 42 grams of Protein in just 3 ounces. She stated that females need at least 80 grams of protein a day and this made it an easy way to get over half. Theres a website I ordered from earlier today liquid Protein Information and Product Listings - Fitness First USA I purchased 48 vials for $56.00 which seems expensive but if your doing the shakes for protein then you know its about the same only this has a lot more protein. She highly recommended them for right after surgery and those days when we know we won't be eating right and protein amoints will fall short. Personally I felt a little vain but I want to loose lots of weight not lots of hair so I ordered some for me. Theres a lot of other products as well that look good you might want to consider. They do have a referral and bonus program, please if you decide to order I would appreciate it if you used my name (Saundra Rotherham) and you can do the same. I also have a promotional code which brings the shipping down to only $1.00, as far as any one knows it doesn't have an expiration date and it did work for me its OCONUS1. She did say that right after surgery a lot of people split it in half. She also said while she likes the taste as it is some people put in it Water, sugarfree koolaids and such to help with their liquid intake. Lots of luck everyone I hope some of you find this helpful:thumbup: I should add they throw in two vials free and if 24 is more than you want to start with they have a 12 pack in each flavor as well. I'm gonna start with grape in case I want to add to my grape crystal light. Saundra
