    Any old timers still around?

Shirley that really sucks!!! I'm so sorry your one of the bad stats. It sounds like your staying pretty positive though and that's huge in itself, especially after what you've gone through. I've had lots of people ask me when am I having it took out...NEVER if it behaves, mostly cause I hate being put to sleep and secondly because I don't believe in myself. Aprils not to far away, keep me posted xoxoxo
  2. I hit my goal weight and then some..I went down to 118, at 5" 1.5 and my age that was pretty good...only bad thing about all of it is the wrinkles :( don't worry, the younger you are the less of those to worry about lol

    Any old timers still around?

Hi "old timers" lol I hit my record weight and stayed for awhile, I admit I'm maybe 10 over where I'd like to be but I know why....I sometimes feel like the band saved me but I also feel like I mostly did it myself....I know when I had finally lost enough to start seeing progress it was a lot easier for me to get off my large rear end and move....I mean I moved...I was drop dead tired for over 6 months lol but it worked.....I know I'd probably be close to 300 by now without but other than thinking I went to this extreme to loose weight for the most part I really believe I did it. Don't misunderstand me please I'm so grateful for the band...nothing had worked before it to get me past 20 lbs lost. I still have some really bad eating habits I fight and don't always win (thus the 10 I could let go of) I try not to beat myself up to bad...I do believe theres a diff in treating and cheating....life doesn't have to be a continuous diet, simply a lot more good choices than bad, throw in a nice dash of additional movement and hopefully...

I totally agree...Lets see, I've been at goal weight for about 6 months now, I'm suppose to be toning up, which I have to admit is as hard as everyone said it would be at my age and much much harder than I thought. I can't afford plastic surgery so I'm learning to deal with ummm extra skin...Not complaining, I've learned a few tricks with dressing that help a lot. My health has improved so much, loosing the weight has made such a huge change in my life. I find it easy to eat right now....I'm not against the occasional treating (some call cheating) myself but I am very aware of what I eat, when I eat it, and how I eat it. The lb was the perfect tool for me. If I can remember how I'll try n update my pic. I never thought I'd be one that said I got down to a size 4 but I am, and very proud of it

Sorry you had to deal with the gall bladder during your weight loss but maybe it had a silver lining....stuff like that is an unfortunate part of life and you still lost even if it wasn't as much as u wanted. 12-14 I'd say its time to apply for that dream job!!:tongue_smilie:

    Biggest Loser Fall 09

It looks like they definately went looking for some major drama and found it. I felt sorry for Daniel when he n Shay were partners but shes still bitching now that they are on the blue team together. Listening to Lizzy say she was gonna vote Tracey off o matter what then watching her switch went right through me. She said she was allowed back in the gym this week so her numbers should stay good and make her a bigger threat than Mo was in the pain hes in. I so do NOT feel sorry for anything she does to the blue team or what the black team does to the blue team when they find out they didn't vote her off

    biggest loser - '09

I know where my but will be on Sept 15th....I found this clip on Dan In last season's "The Biggest Loser: Couples," Daniel was the heaviest contestant in the history of the show, weighing in at 454 pounds. He lost 142 pounds by the May 12 finale, getting him down to 312 pounds. In keeping with the "Second Chances" theme of Season 8, Daniel is returning to the Biggest Loser ranch to continue his weight-loss journey. Daniel is an intellectual and caring person with an extraordinary character and positive attitude towards life. He always strives to do his best in everything he does. He hopes to one day be a youth pastor. I think its great hes getting another shot, for some reason I'm thinking some may disagree with that, but for now I think its great

I don't remember exactly what mine holds but I think it was around 10 so I have a ways to go. I've felt restriction since day one though even after swelling went down, it just seems I learn to adjust fairly fast and now just mostly struggle with head hunger.....for some reason I have deeloped a continuous craving for apple pie go figure. I used to throw them away cause they would just get wasted, now I can't wait till the holidays thats my treat LOL welcome to the thread, we don't post a lot but we are here if you need us

Theres a dozen reasons I've laid mine down, who knows I may put it back on. I'm not against them, just haven't clicke with mine the way I hoped. I think if I weren't so limited physically maybe it would be differant. I've read a lot of good things from other banders

Amy I've used the body bugg and finally got frustrated with it, just seems like at the end of the week nothing works but a fill. My dr says come get one any week I don't loose a pound but that just seems so drastic, not to mention I have to travel over an hour and am stuck t my DH's work the rest of the day. Strange how the fills cause me to loose 4-5 lbs and I can maintain that weight easily. Loosing without the fill seems about impossible though:thumbdown: I may schedule one for week after next, my last fill hurt pretty bad for some reason, anyone run into a particularily painful fill yet?

    Hello from WV

I started eating fiber one for breakfast every day when things like fiber choice and splenda with fiber didn't work. It seemed to be enough to push me over, also they sell Magnesium Citrate Oral Solution, I had to drink a bottle then with the fiber one have stayed pretty regular.

    Anyone from WV???

after the first few days I was soooo hungry then my first appt was canceled which meant I had to stay on liquids till the new appt, ok I was bad and slipped some things like navy beans in but ate super slow and only after my original appt date passed. The fills help a lot with hunger, head hunger is the butt kicker. When I seem to be struggeling real hard with my calories I have a little added. Hang in there its soooo worth it. If your getting protein now that seems to help a little. I remember eating and drinking grape stuff like crystal light, grape jello, and grappe liquid protein so much in the beginning, along with baby foods. Some how we all get through that part.

    Anyone from WV???

welcome to the site. I don't remember that thread but I've seen good and bad about most drs and I think usually the bad is mostly they don't like the rules that come with the band, I think a lot of people kid themselves into thinking it will be so easy and when its not like they thought they blame the dr. I know when I listen to my dr I do much better, when I listen to me I hate the scales. Good Luck and keep us posted on your journey

    Hello from WV

having to go through the diet twice shows a lot of strength and determination on your part. Which is what it takes to make the band work. Try not to worry you'll be at your parents house in no time starving to death. LOL You'll be fine, when your able post and let us know how your doing, I'll be thinking of you

    Hello from WV

most carbs seem to be the slider foods I stay away from, Shin is protein protein protein if I ate chicken 3 times a day and only 4 ounces he'd be happy, unfortunately I'm still trying to learn to like chicken. the turkey weenies are 3 gms each so thats 6 if I do 2 the red meat has 0 so I'm within my carb amount. I just got off the phone with GNC and they had one product with 60 gms of protein 250 cals. and since we females supposedly don't absorb it as well looks like I'll be staying with the bullets and just have to push myself to remember to drink them I do think I might possibly add cottage cheese once I check out the label (hoping its bad but am assuming its not) my weight loss has basically just been steady, for me when I got the first 30 off it allowed me to exercise which even though I'm kind of limited was something I've none of in over 4 yrs due to other problems.....I think thats why I've lost more than I expected to at this point. When I saw him last I wasn't as tired or I'm sure it would of been addressed, in the mean time if I have to add some calories to make up the protein then so be it. I would add another half of a bullit if remembering it in the first place wasn't so hard for me LOL...he did make it clear to expect my weight loss to become much slower now especially since I'm not really able to wisely increase my exercising

    Hello from WV

ughhhh maybe I need to learn to eat cottage cheese yikes I so have never liked it but I need the protein, I've lost a little over 70 with 30-40 to go depending on who you ask lol. I'm very much a creature of habit as well 1/2 bullet 22grams prtein 1/2 cup fiber one 1/8 cup of organice 1 % milk 2 turkey weenies 40 cals each 3 grams carbs each dinner is usually 4 ounces of chicken or 4 ounces low fat hamburger on the foreman or more turkey weenies other half if I stick to this its 73 grams give or take 1 gram or 2 of protein and under 700 ..... I'm cool with this until tv time then I want pop corn, breakfast bars, and of course all the things I dare not let myself think about biggest problem I've found is where I forget the protein a lot, usually the evening 1/2 I'm tired now and the desire to exercise suffers of course. I know I'm an all or nothing personality, I could never cut back on smoking or anything I always had to go cold turkey so it looks like I'm gonna have to break out a can of whoop ask on myself and cut me off entirely like after a certain time or something to that nature....I guess I'll have to figure it out I so wish I could invent a tasty low cal snack I mean really low cal and really tasty, wow would I be rich or what.... I know we have treat ourselves occasionally but I have a hard time with limits past 0 ......if you all can think of things besides sugar free pop sickles n fudge sickles (they r kind of high on a 700 cal ) let me know I think I'll have hubby pick me up some of that curdled white stuff and add it to my lunch that would give me more protein and keep it spread ot so it gets absorbed but still drink my bullet,
  21. Saundra

    Hello from WV

Elizabeth has your dr said anything about how many calories you should be eating now? I know they are all differant I just like comparing. Doing the 700 my dr suggested using the bullet means I have 520 calories to eat for the whole day as foods. It works it just gets really old mostly because he so doesn't want me eating anything he considers a slider food, which is like everything I like LOL

    Hello from WV

so your only getting like 7.5 grams of protein from the bar? How many grams are you getting from other things like in one days time? If I watch really carefully I can do 700 calories 73 grams of protein. I didn't have to worry so much in the beginning I was allowed more calories. Weight loss slows down according to most people about where I'm at. So of course he recommended cutting back on my calories. I think I will always have problems with evening snack cravings grrrr dh n I used to watch tv and totally veg out. Now its the hardest time for me. Old habits die hard. Oh love the new hair cut by the way, you look awesome!!:wink2:

    Hello from WV

which protein bar plz how much protein and how many sugars, oh and of course how many calories, I've looked at a lot of them thinking I might go that route but I my dr wants me to stay under 10 sugars at any meal and thats where I seem to run into trouble with the bars :wink2:

    Hello from WV

That seems to be preference of taste and what you can afford whte. I started with atkins advantage then switched to the bullits, they have more protein and cost wise going on amount of protein I get I found them cheaper online I have to add this though I was really good about taking my protein for a long time, I have long hair and was pretty vein about it. I did however start getting lazy awhile back plus its an extra 180 calories a day for 42 grams of protein and my dr wants me to aim for 700 calories ughhhh to which of course I'm not doing so well at, thing is my hair did start falling out big time I'm back to being extremely tired, even my blood pressures kinda low. So I gotta force myself to take mine now, and yes I skipped last night. I split mine half in the morning half at night to make sure of absorption. I doubt this helped other than to stress how important protein is to us, I'm only 6 months out, I also read that a deficiency slows down weight loss grrrrrrr if your interested I can give you the link where I get mine, otherwise you can get them at GNC they just cost more than online for some reason.
