After having my surgery cancelled last month due to the abrupt closure of my hospital's bariatric practice, I have a new date at another hospital in the area and can hardly wait for the time to fly by. I'm scheduled for gastric bypass on February 21. Any other February peeps out there?

I just got my surgery date, February 6th! I’m having my 16 year old lab band taken out and I’m doing a bypass. I live in South Florida, you guys going to Mexico or abroad are so brave!

I am thinking about having a gastric sleeve procedure using Clinichub (Dr. Salim Gumas). I wanted to find out if anybody used them and their experience (good or bad). Or if they used another provider and doctor, can you provide who you went with, the last name of the doctor, and your experience. Even though apparently there are a lot of people going to Turkey for the procedure and there are many experienced doctors, there are a lot of unanswered questions. I have read that some of the websites where people review their experience that they pay the website to delete negative reviews.
Would appreciate any honest feedback.

I wouldn’t keep vaping even zero nicotine. You may pass the test I’m honestly not sure but even the zero nicotine can cause issues during surgery I have heard. Not worth having complications. Plus it’s really freeing to not have to worry about bringing a vape and juice and charging it all the time. All of that you don’t realize what a pain it is until you quit and are free of doing all that.

Does anyone have any tips to quit vaping? My very first appointment is schedule for Sept.7 and u had ti watch orientation videos. It stated that you have to be nicotine free for surgery and the best time to quit is now. I tried to quit over the weekend and felt so tired, angry and irritable.

Could be Water weight, could be hormones, could be the day of the week, could just be...your turn to have a minor setback. You'll have some fluctuation here and there and as you lose more and the weight loss slows, you may notice it more. This is not a "failure" and it's destructive to frame it that way to yourself. It's part of the process. It's going to be ok. Don't beat yourself up. Don't sabotage yourself. Just keep going.
