  1. Happy 39th Birthday clarygrundy!

  2. I had my surgery 4 years ago in October and so far I have lost 112 lbs, in April I had my 4th fill so I now have 7cc in my band. However since the fill I have had broken nights sleep waking coughing and being sick, also my eating has been sporadic, being able to manage a small fishcake, glass of wine, humus and dips, but then some days I can manage food other days don't even want to risk a drink. I find I can't drink before being awake at least 2 hours otherwise I am sick. My band isn't made easy by the fact I had mouth cancer 2 years ago and have a plate in my mouth filling a large hole so excess saliva can sometimes be an issue. I have today been up since 6.10am (UK time) and its now 13.25 and all I have had was half a cup of coffee which came back up. Its getting me down a bit now so would appricate your thoughts????

    A Fill after a year

Hey guys I wonder if anyone can help. I had my first fill in over a year last week and now I'm having real problems at night time, coughing and waking with a mouth full of saliva then being sick, well gagging mainly! I had 5.5ml in my band and the doctor drained it to see how much was there as I couldn't remember after a year, he then topped it up to 6.5ml I'm now to scared to eat or drink anything as its causing me great discomfort during the day, I was ok thursday, friday, saturday. sunday but it started on Monday night. Any ideas??? I don't want to have it taken out if possible as had started to gain a couple of pounds and not quite where I need to be yet. Thanks
  7. Hi Guys I have been trying desperately to find some interesting recipes to have for my first couple of weeks of liquids and then mushies. On the nutrition and recipes pages it is mainly american foods which we can't by over here (I have got one good Soup one though). So please lets start putting our own on so we have some more flavours to this first important stage!!!!

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Well I'm home!!!! What a fantastic trip well worth every penny, the hospital is so clean you could eat you "last" dinner off it, the staff are more than helpful and Dr Chris and Fredrick are smashing.:crying: I am now looking forward to my new life with the band, the family are glad I'm home safetly and my husband was a fantastic support. I met some lovely people when I was there and will be staying intouch with them all. All the advice from the site has been wonderful and I would say to anyone to get as much from all the folk on here, it really helped me.

Well Guys I'm off tomorrow for my band on Friday. I'm just about ready for it I think but nerves running very high. To top it all I have just landed a new job and I start on Monday!!!!! How have people felt a couple of days later? I am planning on doing some walking on Saturday and Sunday to get myself up and around, at the end of the day I'm not ill, it has been my choice to have the op so I should get on with it.

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi everyone Only 5 days to go til my op!!!! Not doing very well on pre op, I am trying to get in all my favourite meals before its liquids and mush for a while. I have got my list of everything I need, but have a question about Vitamins, how can I take them if you can't swallow them whole or chew them?? I know it sounds daft but really want to make sure I'm not missing out on anything. My ten year old daughter asked my husband if I was going to die, trying so hard to explain everything to her but it really made me think for a while if I was doing the right thing, but then the likelyhood of me dying from obesity would be greater than the op itself!
