  4. I don't know much aything about the two doctors, but I would personally prefer one who keeps you overnight. I know it costs more, especially if you're self-pay, but I believe it's preferable to be under the suprevision of nurses and such that first night. My surgery was complication free, but it helped to have people to question about aches, pains, etc.
  5. My surgery is scheduled for Nov 5---TOMORROW! I have my pre-op today, and now I have a nasty head cold, so I don't know if they'll make me reschedule. I hope not--I'm so ready to get this moving. I didn't do a diet before, but I've been careful of what I eat. I'm already getting full sooner than before, or maybe I'm just noticing. I'm nervous, but I trust my doctor, so it's in other hands. Good luck to everyone.

    Hello

My name is Laurie. My husband and I just had my appointment/information session on 9/9/08 with Dr. Quaid in Fort Collins. He and his staff were wonderful and informative. He actually set a date of Oct. 29 for the surgery, although I think I'm going to try to push it to the next week, purely for childcare reasons. My family is happy I'm going to do this. I've been thinking of it for several years but a death in the family + hypertension helped me finalize my decision. I can't say that I'm "excited" right now. I'm trying to get my mind around all the things I need to learn before the surgery so I can be successful. I think overwhelmed and apprehensive are better descriptors. Am I strange? Does this mean I'm not ready?
  7. I have a tentative date of October 29, pending approval and such. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I keep worrying that I'll screw this up somehow.
