  1. DAnna---no I have not had my fill yet. I see my dr. on the 25th and am so hoping I will get it then. Yes, I know exactly where Dripping Springs is. My father's family is from there. Most of his family has either moved away or have passed away. I have very fond memories of visiting in DS when I was a child. This was when the town was practically just a spot in the road. I always have thought it was so pretty there. Last time we drove thru, I could not get over how big it had gotten. Let me know how your fill experience was. I don't like shots. It will be worth it if it helps me to keep losing. Take Care---
  2. DAnna----Good to hear from you. I live in Bastrop, Texas. That's about 30 miles SE of Austin. I had my banding done in LaGrange by Dr.R Juno at St. Mark's Hospital. I could not have asked for better treatment at the hospital and by the staff. Have a Great Time in SA. Hope to hear how the fill went for you. Am a little anxious about the fill process.
  3. Hi--I was banded on aug. 27 and feel great. Hope to get a fill next week on the 25th. Have started getting hungrier and hope the fill will help with that issue. I read about not eating bread because it may get stuck after swallowing---Believe it! My family was having pizza last night and I thought I would have a few bites. Needless to say, the bread got stuck and it was very painful. I couldn't cough it up and felt like I was going to vomit. The bread took quite a long time to finally go down. I think I have learned my lesson. Sometimes, I have to learn the hard way, even at my age of 54 yrs. Still, I am very happy with the results of the surgery. I have lost approx. 35 pounds since the pre-surgery diet to now. This website has been very informative. I love reading about everyone's experiences and how you are handling them. THANK YOU to everybody. I love all the graphics most of you include in your postings. Maybe, someday, I will learn how to insert all those cute little doo-dads.
  4. I was banded August 27,2008. I am so happy that I did it. I have lost about 13 pounds since being banded. My doctor said he will see how I have done at my next visit. I had lost 20 pounds total since the beginning of my liqued diet . I haven't had any problems so far. I think I am slowing down with the weight losing. The dr. said he will consider doing a fill at my next appt. Yay! Hopefully, it will help me get started losing that weight faster.
  5. Hello to a fellow TEXAN!!! I too had to work with BC/BS. It was more like "warting the horns off them"to get an approval. Everytime I called, they wanted more proof that I needed this procedure. Well, after numerous calls, I was told that the procedure was covered, but it was not guaranteed they would pay. What's that all about? My hospital called them and was told the same thing, but they agreed to do the procedure and I am now 1 week after banding. I feel great and so far, no problems. I hope you were able to have your banding. Mine was 8/27/08. I look forward to hearing from you.
  6. I like you, hem and hawed for a long time before I made the decision to get banded. I was banded 8/27/08 and home the next day. Yes, you will only get a tiny bit of broth and juice in the hospital, but after having it, I wasn't hungry. I now am beginning the "mushy" phase and have not been hungry yet. I am sooo... glad I had the procedure, I'm feeling great, and have a happier outlook on my life. If you are undecided, then don't do it. You will know when the time is right and I think you will be happier for it. God Bless You----
