  1. My stall hit a couple days before I was 2 weeks post op and lasted a solid 2 weeks. But the scale is finally moving downward again, much slower pace, but it’s going down! I’m a month out today!

  17. Just checking in a week post-op VSG. I’m doing really well, meeting protein and water goals. I can take about 3 swallows of water at a time, which works out to about 3 oz. Then I gotta allow 10 min or so before I put anything else down the chute. At first I couldn’t even get 3 oz of my protein shakes down at a time, but now I’m getting half shakes down 4 times a day. I also had some Greek yogurt tonight. I absolutely hated Greek yogurt before surgery, but was so good and felt good in my stomach too. I also now like unsweetened tea and I used to be 100% sweet tea girl. It’s absolutely crazy how your body changes. Good luck to everyone with surgeries coming up this week. Thoughts and prayers are with you all. The pain doesn’t last forever, and things will get better quickly. Soon, we’ll all be looking back and celebrating our success and seeing these moments of struggle as just stumbling blocks on our journey! Oh, and 22 pounds down from start of pre-op as of this morning!! ?? Much love to all! ?

  20. I survived! Recovery is rough, especially the first 24 hours. For me it was the nausea more than the pain. I absolutely hate being sick at my stomach and I vomited a couple times on surgery day and day 2 post op. Plus the taste of my toothpaste made me nauseous this morning. So weird. Feels like morning sickness all over again! ??? but medicine does help!

  28. Idk if I can have SF gum, but I don’t see why not. I can’t imagine it would hurt anything. I go in to the surgeon tomorrow to sign my consent and go over everything one last time, so I’ll ask him. Thanks for the tip, LindsayT! ?
  29. Mine is a 10-day liquid diet…basically 3 shakes a day, SF jello or popsicles, reduced sodium broth, and all the water I want. ? I’m jealous of those of you that get to have food that you chew during your pre-op. But I’m thankful it’s only 10 days!
  30. Thank you all! Day 3 has been a little better. Just a little headache that hasn’t even required Tylenol yet. I’m not starving, but definitely miss food and chewing! ? Can’t wait for the next phase!!!

  32. I’m scheduled for May 1st…going into Day 3 of my 10 day pre-op diet hell. So excited to get passed this phase!!!
  33. Omg! I’m only on Day 2 of my 10 day pre-op diet and I’m struggling. Lots of tears and doubts today. I’ve been sad. I actually feel grief. I’ve heard about people “breaking up” with food and feeling the same symptoms of a relationship break up, but I had no idea how real it was. Plus, the headache both yesterday and today has been miserable. Why do I feel like what believe going through withdrawal feels? I’m not even feeling like I’m starving so much as I just feel alone and scared. I’ve journaled, I’ve talk to my surgery buddy that’s having her sleeve 2 weeks after me, I’ve watched Tic Toks for inspiration and motivation. But I’m still struggling. Anyone have any words to help me through this? I know (hope) this is going to pass in a couple days, but I wasn’t prepared for these intense feelings.
  34. I’m scheduled for my VSG on 5/1/23
