  1. Debbie, Tomorrow is your big day. I'm tickled for you. Keep positive thoughts, this is going to be the start of a new you. My surgery was fine, very little after pain. I was up walking in a few hours and home the next afternoon. I have back issues and have been taking pain management shots and I feel better than I have in decades. Just the 40+ lbs. I've lost so far has made a world of difference. Constitapation was the only problem I had and but once I started eating more veggies things got better. If you have problems don't hesisate to call your doctor, that's what they get paid the big bucks for. Next time we chat you'll be banded. Good Luck.
  2. Debbie, I'm so excited for you. This is the beginning of a whole new you. My lap-band is the best thing I have done. You'll get tired of all the protein drinks, I never thought I would miss chewing something so much, but it is well worth it. I've lost 41 lbs. in the 3 months since I was banded on July 24, 2008, and I feel better than I have felt in years. Whatever you do, follow your doctors instructions on what to eat. All doctors give different directions, make sure you do what yours says. I've has 2 fills and they aren't bad at all. You can do this. One of my greatest joys is to see how my clothes swollow me now. The first few weeks are tough, but you can handle it. Best of luck to you. I'll pray for you.
  3. Hi AuntLucy, Thursday, Sept. 18 at 7:00 p.m. will be great. Can't wait to see how many will show up. I go for my first fill on Monday, Sept 15. Wish me luck, I'm a little nervous. Doing okay, so far.
  4. Hi Aunt Lucy, You said Thursday would be better for you but the 16th is on a Tuesday. do you still want to start on Tuesday the 16th? Either day works for me. I think this will be great.
  5. Hi Aunt Lucy, A couple times a month sounds great to me. How does the 1st and 3rd Tuesday or Thursday of each month sound? What day would work better for u? Can't wait to get this thing rolling. We could start on Sept 16 or 18, or is that to soon?
  6. The location of our church is 124 N. Carlisle St. across from Slaughter. Tuesday or Thursday would probably be the best days. Anytime will probably be good, say 6:30 to 8:30. How many days a month are we talking about?
  7. I am interested in a support group meeting in McKinney. We can use our church if we need a place and the time is right. I'm the church secretary, so I have our schedules. Are you already meeting someplace. I need all the help I can get. A lady from Denison contacted me and wants to meet too. The sooner the better.
  8. I just got banded on July 24, 2008 and would love to have some local support. I live in Princeton, just down the road. There are support groups at UTSouthwestern where I had surgery but that's to far to drive and it's at night in Dallas. Uck!
  9. I'm new to this chat stuff, so I may need all the help I can get. I had my surgery on July 24, 2008. I'm a little disappointed because I have only lost 19 lbs. so far. I've seen several banders that have had surgery since I have and have lost lots more weight. Am I doing something wrong? I feel good and have been riding my bike but the weight isn't coming off. My doctor wasn't real clear on what to eat except to avoid non-starchy veggies and avoid potatoes. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help.
