  1. Ok, weighed in lost one more pound. Yeah!! for me!! I have started exercise as well. I am trying to have will power but WOW!! is it hard.
  2. Ok guys, I am starting Line dance on Thursday with Karalena. Can we say WOO HOO!:smile2:
  3. Appointment was good. I lost 4 pounds. I will be at Zumba Monday night with you guys. I really don't know anything else. Just playing the waiting game like everyone else. The good thing to this is I have got some structure thanks to Jeannie. :-) I haven't seen the nutrionist yet but she helped me change a few things to adjust to the new lifestyle I am taking on. All is good so far.
  4. Hey guys, this site is not the easiest to utilize. Well, Three weeks and I can start Zumba with you guys. Um, Kar said I need to get on here and talk more because I need support. LOL. Well all is good so far. Kinda doing my own diet until Jeannie gives me my blood work results tomorrow. My instruction for this week was to drink unsweet tea or half and half. Can we say yuck. I just quit tea altogether and am drinking tons of water. I have to say its not bad. I like water. No, pop or anything just water. I cut back on my calories. I am getting a little hungry towards bed.. At work is not to bad because I am busy. Evenings are a little harder that is why I am hopeing to start dance soon and zumba. Three nights a week I will be busy with that. Ok, well let me know if any of you are going to do dance too.
  5. I will attend the meetings as well. I don't understand why they wouldn't want to come. Well you can count me in.
  6. Do you do protien too? I thought about doing for the 1200 cal diet a protien shake for breakfast to get used to the fact that I am going to have to have protien and Kar told me to buy this drink mix for the fiber I need. Now, I will buy vitamins too to get the nutrients also. The only thing I haven't taken in consideration is that I will be hungry. That will be hard to break and the old eating habits. :-( Lord please help me be strong!! How often do you go in for weight and body checks with your doctor?
  7. Yeah, it is hard for me too. Dieting always works for me the first 3 to 4 weeks and then I just quit. So, keeping the diet moving will have to be strictly motivation because I want to be banded so bad. Why do you take flintstones. Do they require us to take the childrens chewables? My friend and I are doing this together she is WVAFAN, She said that we need to try to get used to getting in our fiber and protien so that it won't be such a shock to us when we get close to band date.
  8. Have any of you guys tried the protien whey based powder called Nectar? I guess there is a lot of different fruity flavors.
  9. Ewe, Kar I have such a hard time with fish as well. There has gotta be some other way then eating fish. :girl_hug:. Elizabeth, do they give you a diet to follow or just have you reduce your portion size. I mean could we follow the weight watchers guidelines until surgery time as long as we keep our calories low?
  10. Hi all, I finally got to my first appointment. It is October 2nd so I am well on my way. My question for the Dr. Kaplan pro's. The diet that they start you on do they change the food you eat too or just calories and exercise?
  11. That is awesome Froggi!!! Now you are down 27lbs that you don't have to worry about after the surgery. I am still waiting on my call to get the 6 mo. program started. I can't wait. At least you are closer to the approval. Do you have bcbs and did you have to do a year plan? I can't remember who you said your insurance co. was. I have to do at least 6 mo. plan with mine. :-(
  12. Thank you Kay7, I am so stressed out worrying myself to death not I am not going to get approved. I called bcbs they say I was approved as long as I pre certify. My bmi is 51% so I know that I won't have a problem there. What I am worried about is the only thing I can vouch for is my weight. I don't have high blood pressure or diabeties so I am worried I won't get approved. Then there is a sleep apnea I don't have that but I have major sleep issue's, bad knee's but never had them looked at. So now I am worried I won't get approved.
  13. Thank you very much you guys for your help. :crying:
  14. I am going through my insurance. I have bcbs and it requires a pre-certify with six month program. I just don't sleep well but I don't stop breathing while I am sleeping. Insurance bmi terms are 40% or 35 if medical problems.
  15. Thanks Minxz, I was freaking out there for a minute. Ok so Apnea is when you stop breathing while you are sleeping. I just don't sleep very long. That is totally different. :crying:
  16. I am finding out that certain people have to take the sleep apnea test. I was wondering what its purpose is with the banding. I have sleeping issue's and have my entire life. Will this effect me being able to get banded. :crying:
  17. If they require you to take this test. Does it hurt your chances of getting the surgery or not? Anyone know the answer?
  18. I have been over weight my entire life as well. How are you doing. Is your diet seem to be going ok today? I read a lot of good and bad stories on this website. I was reading today about the fills. On what is too much or to little. I hope I find my "sweet" spot as everyone calls it. How much protien do you eat a day?
  19. Another question. Did BCBS require for you to have a 5 yr history with your weight and weight loss.
  20. No, that is not to bad at all. I just can't wait to get started. Letting go of the carbs and sugar will be hard for me. I have never really done a full protien diet before. This will be all new for me. I did weight watchers in 2000 and lost 111 pounds and gained 160 pounds back. OUCH!! So I am looking to have something that I know will help me along the weigh and it will still be there like a crutch to depend on.
  21. Do you have bcbs insurance as well. It just seems like it is going to take forever to get started. What have you experienced the do's and don'ts for the pre weight loss for the insurance. Do Linsey and Jeannie take care of everything for you as far as the paperwork go for the insurance? I have already been told that you have to exercise. Do you also have to lose a certain amount of weight?
  22. Hello Froggy, Nice to meet you. So you are going through the 6 month evaluation right now. I go to the seminar on the 6th of September. I am so excited. Congrats on your weight loss. You are doing really good. Dr. Kaplan will be my surgeon as well. When did you go to your seminar?
  23. Do they start you on a diet immediately? If so if you lose a bunch of weight will they disquailify you? I am so stressed out about not losing and losing just to so I can get to the approval from BCBS. I think this is stressing me out more than the surgery.lol
  24. Oh wow!!! I am sorry that you are fighting infection. That is holding you back from your fill. That would be hard. So you are eating solid foods then. I wasn't sure if we could have chicken. I love chicken. I am not a red meat eater so it won't bother me not to have that. My hardest thing for me giving up will be bread. I love bread.
