  3. oh and also wanted to mention that I think it's wonderful you posted people need to see the GOOD and the UGLY about LAPBAND... I personally stopped going to the support group because so many people were trying and having horrible results with it.
  4. WOW is all I have to say! I'm so glad the nightmare is over for you and you can find something that will suite you better then the band. It sucks that no one is truly guaranteed success with such an awesome tool as some put it! I still love my band 3.5 years later but I've had my issues with it to and I have made drastic adjustments to my life to accommodate this moody band. Keep us posted on if you do a revision to another WLS.

  7. Thats great news... Now you can start living! I'm 3.5 years in and I pray I don't have to go threw this but I know 3 friends that had to have removal and 1 had it removed and replaced all in same surgery. The worst part is not being able to eat real food... I had to give up eating meat because it just didn't work with the band. I live plant based and can actually eat and feel like wow I just ate. I'm just thankful I'm one of those people who is able to eat veggies because so many people I know CAN NOT... I eat fish/shrimp every now and again but it's such a hasstle I don't bother 90% of time. I'm just happy I figured out the formula that works for me. On the other hand I have a friend 4 months in and is always having issues. I just hope she gets it all worked so she's not living the nightmare. Keep me posted on how you are doing.
  8. If I run in the AM like 30-60 min only because sleep is so important vs eating! Today I had a quick bite from my mix a few minutes before run. coffee is fine if you can handle it all my running buddies drink it before run I don't.because I hate having to go potty so much when I have coffee. Oh I love Nuun been.using for 2 months.and love... Pink lemonade and fruit punch the most I have 6 flavors to including u hydrate flavors. I drink that vs juice and when I want more then jus Water. Let me know how you like it when you get them :0)
  9. Ok so todays long run went well today... 12 miles and no GU or Shot blocks.... I experimented with cranberries, almonds and pretzel mix and it went down great and there was energy still flowing out of my at the end of the hot humbid semi rainy run! Oh and had Nuun in my had held... think im on to a good thing here :0)
  10. Checkyes... Not having an appetite would be.a blessing! Being a Pescatarian is the healthiest per some people. I believe if the shoe fits.wear it :0) because no two people are.alike! Ill post a few more fun sites to check out! Oh I found a luna bar that is so delish dipped.chocolate.coconut... Its dreamy and the.coconut isn't overpowering.and vegan!!!
  11. Sorry.typing via touch phone.sometimes sucks!!! Rozicakes as I was trying to type keep up the good.work! I.came in last every.5k I did.but I.didn't.give up and moved on to longer distances from one summer to the next just.keep at it.:0) Checkyes I.want.to.do.a.try.next year!!! Let me know.how it goes...training and all! Oh which.tri are.you.doing?
  12. Checkyes.... I have an appetite on me!!! I also bike and its hard not to be hungry lol!!! averaging between 30-40 miles a week at the lower end, but if I eat like I'm suppose to I can eat even with being 2.5.years out I want to eat like a.ravaging lunatic :0) I think I figured out my problem is sugar... I've been really looking at how much of.it GU has and reading about running to tap into your fat vs using.sugar.for energy!!!.makes me.think a lot you can check.it out on nomeat athlete.com I have started the transition to veg/vegan I mean I keep touring myself trying.to eat meat cuz its so dry and.adding.sugar sauces to get.it.to go.down! Veggies.go down well and so does tofu and.soy so.going to give.it.a.whirl Rozicakes keep yp the good
  13. Jachut, thanks for replaying! I'm mainly just comparing notes with other runners. I think we need ideas to fuel our runs especially when running with a band! Its funny because I have to have both carbs and protien or I'm cranky. As far as Gatorade I used to drink but dont anymore I use gels and shot blocks (gummys) and to drink I use nuun with only.6 calories per.serving I can totally drink knowing I'm not drinking all that sugar! Keep the suggestions coming!
  14. So I have been running for a while and training for my second matathon this year and I always wonder if im eating to much or to little I have about 6 ccs in my ap standard band was having a hard time eating early in the year for first marathon. I was contemplating an unfill but this second marathon training I can actually eat but I don't want to get a fill and be unable to eat unhealthy running 26.2 miles is no joke!!! so is anyone else training and how are you eating to support all the.running and cross training thou are doing... Also any ideas to be able to lose 20-25 lbs while training would be appreciated. Also if your reading this just to read you can run or jog/walk a marathon find a buddy pick a marathon to run and do it.... or take baby steps to get there.
  15. this is me and today is officially my bandaversary I haven't really took progression pic's but have random photos of me threw out this year. I didn't like the camera so it's very hard for me to still get in front of it even thou I'm down 60 lbs! But I will start to really do pics of my progression every month this 2nd year!
  16. Today is a milestone in my life... my new life! I woke up today and did my 1 hour work out! I did 30 min of hip hop abs and 30 min of incline training on the treadmill! I feel awesome! I also took my one year bandaversary pic's but had a problem uploading I was totally bummed. I must admit I'm not loving the camera just yet but working on that. I am going to a water park with my girls and their girl scout troop... Ya I'm a leader and it's time to wear a bathing suite! My feeling is are you kidding me I'm not into wearing bathing suites! Although the one I wore this summer fits a lot better. I guess I have to just suck it up and go and have fun... I feel great but not bathing suite great. That's a lot of skin showing lol. Oh and it's the middle of a Nasty winter here in the CHI (Chicago)! So I am going to get it together and try and really get myself behind that camera more often! Maybe it will help me see the transformation of -60 lbs. Oh I must tell you that shopping these days are a lot of fun especially finding good deals. Went to Express last night and was able to by size Medium and they had a big ole sale...$5.99 tops boy talk about a great feeling! I'm really starting to feel a lot more normal these days. I love my Mono (band in Spanish) I don't ever want to be with out it! Keep strong Keep focused and live the band life Peace!

  18. So I have been MIA from my blog for for to long! But I must tell you I do lurk a lot on LBT but I've noticed that I for one have been one of these slow losers! But to my surprise you never really realize what your eating until you really look at labels... Then theirs the little of this. You get aggravated with no restriction then you get some but it's not enough and then BANG Sweet Spot!!!!!!!!! Yes this is me… 8 fills later (8 months out of surgery)!!! To date I’m about 4 months into my Sweet spot making me down 60 lbs at my 1-year bandaversary! Yes Last Year on Friday the 30th of January I underwent this awesome procedure that has given me my life back. I am happier and healthier then ever thanks to my band. Despite the length in getting to my sweet spot the weight is melting off but I have to work for this!!! I work out hard and really follow the band rules. Yes it's easy to eat Crap (chips, cookies and ice cream) but if you do that you will never get the results you want... I don't deprive I just really watch the junk AKA slider foods more closely and try not to consume them often. I eat about a cup a food at one sitting and I try not to snack between meals and work out at least 30 min a day weather I feel like it or not! Don’t get me wrong there’s days I really don't want to but I get up and do it anyway and I must tell you I feel soooooo much better. I’m happy to celebrate my 1-Year today and hope to take pic’s tonight and post my before and after although I’m not done want to loose another 40-50 lbs this year! ~let the Madness continue…Peace
