  1. Don’t stress too much! I don’t measure anything. My actual meals are so tiny I don’t worry about overeating. look at the scale victories and the non scale things: measurements and clothes fitting etc. if everything is trending the right way, don’t worry too much.

    Same. Smooth sailing so far!
  3. I’m just over 4 weeks post op. I’m not tracking either, but I’ve started getting into a rhythm. protein shake for breakfast cheese for snack lunch (varies - today was some corned beef hash) protein shake for afternoon snack dinner (today was like 1/2 a taco) and I might have a protein-y snack like these protein cookies by hold da sugar. my main goal is to get over 60 g of protein and a similar amount in oz of water. I can’t eat very much at a time but I am getting hungry frequently so I’m trying to listen to my body about that.

Sleeved 2/27, and having similar food experience. I can manage most foods, just in much smaller portions. Like 2-3 chicken nuggets. it’s a good thing, but takes getting used to.
  5. 6 days post op. Doing great! Going back to work tomorrow. I do the vitamin patches suggested by my doc.

I get the struggle. but I remind myself that a lot of this is temporary- I’ll be able to enjoy foods again with my family, in moderation in time. In the meantime, I’m so happy that my recovery has been remarkably smooth so far.
  7. I don’t know that I’m really getting a full sensation yet, but possibly that’s due to pacing my liquids? I was discharged on full liquids so I’m just constantly sipping, break for a minute or two, repeat , right now. I’ve had no trouble with getting liquids or protein. Right now I’m aiming for water all the time, 2 protein shakes, and a yogurt. Yesterday I also had a miso soup. Negligent protein but was a nice change. I can have creamy soups but I don’t really want any rn.
  8. Surgery was 2/27, I’m doing surprisingly well, other than feeling like a human pincushion between the lovenox shots and bruising from hospital sticks.

My liquid goal is 6 - 12 oz per hour, slowly sipping. Getting discharged today! Surgery was yesterday.
  10. I’m so ready to go home! Pain is minimal, I’m voiding appropriately. Bahhh
  11. Surgery today was fine. Sore, tired and thirsty.hardest thing is going slow on the liquids.
  12. Surgery tomorrow in the afternoon. We got this.

    So frustrated

Honestly, the couple weeks before my pre-op diet I considered my Food Funeral. I don’t think I really ate excessively, but I wanted to eat things I knew would be a long time before I could enjoy again. im a little over halfway through my 2 week pre-op diet, and while I am hungry, I’m kinda used to it and it doesn’t bother me too much.
  15. Made it through 1 week of pre-op diet. 1 week until surgery! honestly this has not been so bad, which gives me hope I can manage the post-op ramp up plan well. I haven’t fully avoided caffeine - one of the shakes I drink is a coffee one with caffeine, which I think has helped this not be as bad as it might be. Down 9 lbs!
