merrymayhem got a reaction from BigAndTall in February 2023 surgery dates!
(surgery 2/22) I was indeed released on Thursday! I had the bright idea to go on a long walk outside on Friday which I realized was probably a mistake since I hadn't had much for calories and I also only made my Water and Protein minimums that day. I didn't measure the distance beforehand and it was nearly 1.5 miles and around 9 degrees outside. Saturday I met goals and working on that for today as well. I was ordered oxygen for sleeping (they said 75% get sent home with oxygen orders, but I am in Colorado so that may be a factor) and I'm also giving myself Lovenox/Enoxaparin shots twice a day. Today I'm able to get out of bed a lot easier, so I think my incisions and everything are healing well. My surgeon used anesthetic and Dermabond on them and I have had no issues with Fluid escaping or anything. I'm back to pre-op weight on my home scale, the hospital weighed me much closer to my first appointment weight but I was fully clothed with shoes on.

merrymayhem got a reaction from NettyD in February 2023 surgery dates!
My Roux-en-Y was done yesterday. Had to wait for a room to go to afterwards so I was kept in the post surgery observation room.
I remember nothing after being wheeled to surgery, last thing was scooting around to put my head on something right in front of the anesthesiologist.
I’ve already met or exceeded my Water I think, so my IV was disconnected this morning. I had shoulder pain in the recovery room but it’s gone. Yesterday I spent a lot of time sleeping since I got very little sleep that night with being first on the schedule. I had to unhook all this stuff to go to the bathroom. I was told to leave all my meds and Vitamins at home but it took hours for them to bring me my most important med, desmopressin, as I need this to not have to pee and drink so much, I have Diabetes Insipidus and i can’t drink the gallons of water I need off my med. Might be able to break outta here soon!

merrymayhem got a reaction from Kris Poole in Pre-Op by a month and I'm scared...
I’m also pre-op (2/22/23 since I’ll be out of town for my 2/11 anniversary) with MS. I’m worried about triggering another flare because I got them when trying to lose weight with very low carb. I was undiagnosed until that 2nd one which caused near constant dizziness and my legs would lock up while walking and I would rather not go through that again!

merrymayhem got a reaction from SleeveToBypass2023 in Aetna, BCBS or United Healthcare???
I also have BCBSIL, seeing Dr. Weaver, and have MS! I'm getting the RNY though, I take Kesimpta (monthly injection). I think I'm going to have to pay my deductible ($200) plus out of pocket max ($2500) but I'm not sure yet, I should probably call them. Hoping they count my prescription copays (covered by a manufacturer copay card) towards out of pocket max like my last insurance did, I should get at least one fill before surgery ($250 each).
