  1. I went in for my surgery yesterday at 12:45. Waking up was a bear. I was in a lot of pain for a very short time and they quickly got it under control. I slept pretty good last night. Getting my fluids in is taking some getting used to. They want me to do 2 oz every 15 minutes. I tried to introduce Boost and my stomach told me that wasn't hopping today. Lol Overall, I feel surprisingly well for having surgery. I asked for an abdominal binder, and it has helped me tremendously. Happy Healing!
  2. LOL. I will remember this. My biggest fear is the pain. I am a big ole baby and have a low tolerance to pain. hahaha.
  3. Thanks for the advice. I am going to buy me a cozy pair of sweatpants after work. I never thought about a pillow, but it makes sense. It has been a long process with Kaiser, let me tell you. I have been in the program well over a year. I have a super surgeon and the hospital I am going to is nice
  4. I asked about this. This Kaiser has the solar blankets they pump heat into! I am excited about this
  5. I am contemplating buying one just in case. My friends said it was a life saver
  6. Thank you Lisa! You are a trooper! It sounds like you are doing well after your procedure!
  7. They say I will be there for 2 nights, I am hoping that is the longest I am there. My husband will be staying at a hotel near the hospital and will be coming to visit me often
  8. Oh, I will definitely bring a book, just in case Thanks!
  9. I am probably way over thinking this. LOL. Nerves got me so scatter brained
  10. Thank you. The dry mouth thing is already a problem since this liquid diet.
  11. Tomorrow is the day for my much anticipated gastric bypass surgery. I am packing my bag and hoping I am not forgetting anything. Kaiser sent a letter telling me to bring very little, but I want to be comfortable Anyone have any handy tips on what to forget at home and what to bring?
  12. Can't believe I only have 2 sleeps until my procedure! Nervously excited and looking forward to a new year and this needed change in my lifestyle I wish I would have found this website early on! Best of luck to my surgery buddy, Kimpossible00!
  13. Thank you. I guess I will have to fire up my laptop and try from there! Thanks again. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. I cannot figure out how to enter my surgery stats on my profile. I consider myself pretty good figuring things out. This is maddening to me. Lol Can anyone paint me a picture here? Step by step instructions? I feel a little foolish even asking. ? Wish I could just say asking for a friend.... have a super day!
  15. I saw your message and responded, check your messages ? Your family live in my neck of the woods! I look forward to corresponding with you. Small small world. Lol 3 more days!!!!! So dang excited.
  16. I am having gastric bypass on the 29th as well! I started my liquid diet on Thursday. It hasn't been as tough as I thought it would be, but I do a lot of self talking and keeping my eye on the goal of a healthier life. My surgery will be in Portland. Where are you located?
  17. My surgery in 12/29 as well. On Friday I receieved a letter from Kaiser titled, "crisis standards of care declared by Portland hospitals." While they haven't cancelled any procedures yet, they may need to reschedule if the hospital can't accommodate me due to high numbers of patient's. Ugh, I have been in the program for 1 1/2 years and ready for my new journey! With that being said, I am hopeful and excited. I begin my 2 week liquid diet this coming Thursday and pray I do not become too crabby. Lol. Best wishes
