    hello mass. people

:clap2: Your doing great! Isn't it amazing how much better you feel? I, unfortunatly, am at a plato, I have been trying to go to the gym at least 2 to 4 times a week, but I guess this is something that just happens. But I have gone from squeezing myself into a size 20 pants to a 14:dance: so I guess I shouldn't complain. Keep up the good work!

    PBs???

I, unfortunatly found out the hard way what one was. I had grilled pork with stir fried veggies for supper. I was starving and ate too fast. I got the first pains after a few bites, it passed, then stupid me continued to eat fast but smaller bites that I thought I chewed well. It took 45 minutes to get up maybe a tablespoon of meat and lots of slime. It felt like it was stuck in my throat. I tried taking a deep breath and holding it, but I couldn't get a deep enough breath without it hurting. Hopefully I learned to eat slower.

    What kind of pets?

Hi everyone, I have 2 dogs, both from the pound. Sammie is a Shepard/Chow mix (so they say) the the most friendliest dog. When we first got her at 16 weeks she hopped into a neighbors car to go for a ride. She will also go inside a strangers house and make herself at home. (I have to teach her about talking to strangers.) My other dog is a pitbull/wippet mix. She is very protective and loves the kids, and coffee and getting under the covers to sleep. I also have 5 ferrets: Ice, he's all white with pink eyes, and the oldest. Nikkie, Sable, Mingo and Cailin Kong because he is sooo fat. And we also have 3 surviving pond fish. If I had farm I would have a lot more animals.

    New with Questions

Hello, You definitely came to the right place. I was just banded on 3/10 and I don't regret it at all. The shrink is only part of the process, they want to make sure you don't have unrealistic expectations. I don't know where you are from but here in Mass it's only like two twenty minute appts, you see a nutritionist twice and keep a food diary. I find the diary very helpful, especially before the surgury. I would look at what I wrote and be like, did I really eat all that?:omg: My bmi was only 35 but I have strong family history of heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure. I can only speak for myself and say this was the best thing I could ever have done.:biggrin1:

    ugggghhh!!! still can't do it.
  12. OK heres another stupid question. How do you get the weight ticker on your signature? I keep trying to insert but I just get the address, not the ticker.

ok as we slip into March

Hi Hazel, I was banded on 3/10/06 by Dr. Fiallo. I think that must be the busiest office in the world! I think it just might be the insurance company that is holding everything up now. Some insurances just take forever. Fortunately my ins co didn't take long, just two weeks, but there was alot of hold up before that just making sure everything went right. Plus I developed other health issues in the mean time (joy!). But now it's done and I feel great.:biggrin1:

    What to tell people ?

Hi Sprarkling, I told my fiance, family, some friends and co-workers but not my kids. They are 14 and under and I didn't want them to think that weight should be an issue for them. I told them I was having my appendix out and they believed me. I guess you just have to consider who your telling. If someone is supportive of you normally then they probably will be with this. If not then dont tell them, who wants to hear a bunch of crap about trying to do other things to loose weight from someone who is probably a size 8 and can scarf down an 18" meatball grinder in one sitting without gaining an once anyways?
  15. :help: I'm not sure how to use this for posting. This is my first time on. I've been reading everyones comments and decided to ask a question or two. I was banded on 3/10/06 and I'm doing great, but I feel like I have no restrictions. I was wondering if anyone else felt the same? It's only been 6 days and I am able to eat chicken and turkey chili and things like that without feeling sick. Has this happened to anyone else?
