  1. So glad to hear you are doing well! Congratulations
  2. Congratulations!! So happy for you and to hear you are doing so well AWESOME!!!
  3. I am seeing so many variations of the pre-op diet. I guess it depends on the surgeon. Of course, I am on the two week liquid diet. I start it on 11-14 for surgery on 11-28. I am trying to psych myself up to get past thanksgiving LOL! I am thinking positive and keeping my eye on the goal which is better health! I am having my surgery at Desert Springs Hospital in Las Vegas.
  4. Hi Sez22, I am getting my surgery locally, in Las Vegas on 11-28. I have about 80-100 pounds to lose. How about you? When is your surgery scheduled?
  5. I am too! We will be okay, I am already using this site at least a couple times a day amd I have 28 days to go!
  6. I am seeing others who aren't required to do the two weeks either but then there are others who are required to do it. So I am just following what my surgeon told me to do which is the two weeks. I think either way is going to be good, just depends on the surgeon.
  7. It is a good day! I am sure you are doing it right, I think as long was we don't eat anything we are okay LOL! I am really trying to be positive about the liquid diet thing. I just had to do it for one day for another procedure and I did okay so my thought is one day at a time. You are almost there you can do it, keep me posted on how you are doing.
  8. You got this!!! Keep us posted on how things are going
  9. That sounds like a good idea. I was told to start the protein shakes, 4 a day and then other liquids water of course, broth, limited tea, coffee, sugar free jello and popsicles. I just told my friend today I will be working and sleeping while I am on that liquid diet at least for the first 3 days or so. Thanks for the reply, please keep me posted on how things are going, you are almost there, yay!
  10. Hi Elena05, I am scheduled for 11-28-22. You are getting close, how exciting! Are you doing the pre-op diet now? That has me a lilttle nervous but I am working on changing my thinking around the all liquid thing LOL
  11. I agree!! I have decided I am not going to push myself, I am going to do the FMLA paperwork in case I need more time but hoping i won't have to use it.
  12. I also work at a desk job and go out into the field often. I work in child welfare and go into the field to visit in foster homes, attend court, and whatever other tasks require me to be out and about to help families. I have scheduled for two weeks off but will request more time if needed. I am concerned about all the movement even at two weeks out.
  13. Oh a three day liquid diet sounds fantastic. I have to do a two week liquid diet and it starts soon, my surgery date in November 28, 2022.
  14. Congratulations, right behind you. You will do wonderful, I think being nervous is normal, i would wonder if someone wasn't at least a little nervous
  15. Hi, I just got my surgery date yesterday. It will be November 28, 2022. I am having my surgery in my hometown of Las Vegas, NV. Dr. LaDuc at surgical weight control center is performing the surgery. I met with him yesterday and he was awesome, spent a good deal of time talking with me making sure I understood everything. I have another pre-op appointment in his office on 11-22-22, to make sure everything is in order and I have the right proteins and vitamins etc ready to go. This appointment is supposed to take about 3 hours so I think it will thorough and a big help. i have a friend who went to Mexico for her surgery and she is doing great, I can't even remember seeing her overweight. You will do great as well.
  16. Thank you for this post. I am getting ready to start the liquids, my surgery date is 11-28-22. You laid out some of my worst fears, can I do the liquids for two weeks and not cheat especially with thanksgiving smack in the middle! I also relate to your relationship with food. I have also struggled with my weight and overeating most of my life. I talked with my surgeon about all of it. He did tell me that the pre op liquids phase is the hardest. He said that by the time I feel like I can't do it anymore that surgery date will be here, I know i play mind games with myself about it already and I need to focus on what I can do and put the thoughts of the end goal in the forefront of my thoughts. I think we can both do it!!! Like someon said I might just have to "white knuckle" it. I think keeping the end goal of better health in mind will be a big help. I am diabetic and have other medical concerns that 4 different Dr.have said could be lessened or resolved with the surgery so I am committed no matter what it takes. I wish you the best going forward and have faith we can do this!!! P.S. I am very new to this site as well still trying to figure it all out. I can't even figure out how to update my profile or find my ticker so you are doing great.
  17. I am right behind you, scheduled for November 28, 2022.
  18. I have my final consultation on Oct 27th. My case manager said she thinks my sugery will be mid to late November. I am a little nervous but really am ready to go
  19. It looks like i may be having my surgery in late November, I am so ready as well
