The '3 week stall' happens to many! You will get out of it as long as you follow your plan. I'm gonna paste a great reply made by @SpartanMaker in a different post that explains why you may be stalling!

And you’ll likely experience a couple of them as you’re losing. Stalls are all very normal & very common. They usually last 1-3 weeks. Think of them as your body saying what the hell are you doing to me: less food, change of diet, change of activity, weight loss, … It then shuts the door & tries to come to terms with the changes. Some find that while the scale doesn’t move, a tape measure may show some changes.

yep - you're in the infamous three-week stall. Happens to the vast majority of us. If you do a search of this site on the "three week stall", you will find over 17,000 posts on it. And no, I am NOT kidding!
just stick to your plan and stay off the scale for a week or two. It'll eventually break and you'll be on your way again..

Wow. Your experience sounds awful, but the advice about an IV sounds good to me. I am only one week post op, so I have nothing to add, except what one of the nurses at my hospital had me do - he had me set a 20 minute alarm and basically laid out a bunch of pill cups filled with Water to drink. One every twenty minutes. It has helped.

Hey guys! This isn’t as much a success story as it is a progress story but I just had to share!

I had surgery in late April of this year and got weighed at my doctor’s office today and I officially crossed under the 25 bmi border! I’ve still got a ways to go but I have more energy and feel like I have my life back! Now I can keep up with my son’s sports activities!

I’ve had a couple of bumps along the way (who doesn’t?) but with dedication and prayer have moved past them.

    Here’s my progress pic!

    Cheers!

I just had surgery last week, and just found this app… I was surprised how little pain I felt, but I was also surprised how tired I was post surgery. I actually slept from surgery until late afternoon the following day. But once I woke up I felt great, but I wear out quickly. My doctor said the weight loss will help me feel more energized.

Ignore it and move on. Closing the day is meaningless. I’ve tried other apps but My Fitness Pal seems to have the best library of nutrition info on food especially brand name foods so I use it.

I use carb master to track food (I always drink plenty of Water, and that’s almost all I drink so I don’t track) and macros or the food to keep me on the low carb pre op diet

    I use https://www.baritastic.com/
I used MFP for years and I didn't like how it was tailored for lower calorie intakes/wls patients.
https://www.baritastic.com/ is geared solely towards weight loss surgery patients, so I feel like it's more user friendly for me.

Cronometer is best when you want to take a look at your micronutrient intake.

I use MyFitnessPal and I just don’t use the “complete diary” function. It really isn’t necessary to close out the day.
I’ve been using MyFitnessPal for 2.5 years, so I’m kind of attached to it, but a lot of people prefer other apps such as Baritastic, Lose It, or Cronometer, so you might want to give those a try if you don’t like MyFitnessPal.

I just ignore the MyFitnessPal nastygram about low calories. It still works fine, even if they want to complain about my calorie count.

I use MyPlate. There is no problem moving onto the next day even if your calorie count is very low. I like the app.

Best wishes and good luck to all of you - I could never have done this without you.

Consider the possibility that you are a sugar/food addict and need to cut out things like sugar, flour, white potatoes, rice, and processed foods. I've been pretty successful at losing (despite frequent stalls) by following this. Due to complications my RNY>RNY revision was not successful so I have no volume restriction. I HAVE to record everything I eat. My clinic wants me to restrict myself to 800 kcal a day, but I struggle with cravings even though my body is getting sufficient sustenance. Cutting out the trigger foods (above), helps with the craving but I'm usually consuming around 1000-1200 kcal a day--and still slowly losing.

Here are some books I recommend.
