  1. Hi guys...Today is my birthday, and I received my surgery date. I'm sooooo excited!! My date is Oct. 16, only about 2 1/2 weeks away. I'm so excited to have this battle with food over with. I'm looking forward to loosing weight and finally feeling confident with myself. I am nervous though about the actual surgery. Does anyone know how long the actual surgery is?? I'm having some anxiety about my daughter and her saying byebye to mommy and that sort of thing. I think that if I knew how long the actual procedure was, I might feel more at ease. It is very interesting reading all the other treads on here. I would love to hear comments from people who have had a great and positive experiance with this. I'm trying to keep myself positive and tell myself that everything will go fine. I dont want to be one of those who gains weight with this process and I have read about some that have. Any tips at staying away from that sort of thing?? Any tips to great success would be appreciated!! Thanks!! Sabrina
  2. Hi, My name is Sabrina and I am very new to all of this. I am just in the beginning stages of my banding, in fact don't even have a surgery date yet. I have had my initial appointment, and have appointments for the necessary things, but am still waiting for the actual surgery date. I'm VERY excited!! I am 26 years old, and weigh 250 pounds. I have a BMI of just over 40, 40.9 I believe. I have good insurance and as far as I know I am only having to pay part of this surgery. I'm just wanting to talk to someone about my age who has had this done, to ask some questions and talk out some anxieties that I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
