    Skinny Syrup

Correction to my comment - My fav is Vanilla Caramel Creme. I left off the word Creme. It's the one that taste like it already has cream in it. Agree about the mocha, not to my taste. The CHAI is good, too.

    Skinny Syrup

Jordan's Skinny Syrups. I get them at TJ Max for $3.99 for a large bottle 25.2 oz. Amazon has them but cost quite a bit more. I like any of the caramels, but my fav is Vanilla Caramel. To me it tastes like it actually has cream in it! My granddaughter like the Dragon Fruit Acai mixed with Sprite or 7Up. WORD OF CAUTION- It is really easy to over do it! Jordan's Skinny Syrups are strong in flavor. Add just a little, maybe a teaspoon or two until you get what you want. It's not like regular coffee additives where you pour a huge amount to even get a taste.
  4. Sleeved on 9-1-2022, one week before my 71st birthday. I have lost about 60 pounds. Great experience and so happy I finally did it.
  5. September Buddies - 2022 This past year has been great. I am pleased with my weight loss, even though I have been at a stall for quite a while. Need to kick-start this again to get that last 15 pounds gone! My daughter has begun the journey, too. Her sleeve surgery is scheduled for Oct 11, 2023. I hope y'all are doing well! Best wishes and thanks to all for the support we have shared and will continue to do so.

    Dark stools

Agree on the iron. Anything with Bismuth, such as Pepto-Bismol, will do that also.
  8. Only regret is that I didn't have it sooner!!! I was sleeved at age 70 on September 1, 2022. It has been an amazing journey. Yes, there will be some ups and downs but so totally worth it. I had no problems, even at my age. I didn't need any pain or nausea meds. The only time I have had any discomfort was when eat too much, too fast, or didn't chew food as well as I should have. Before surgery I started eating slower, took smaller bite and then ACTUALLY chewed my food appropriately. I quickly realized how I really just gulped food down! I started practicing mindful eating. Every journey is different, as you can tell from people's stories on this site. Best wishes to you, you will do great. Just remember this is not a sprint, but a journey. A change in your life you will not regret! Best wishes.

    Stretching stomach

Dr. Weiner has informative videos. He is in Tucson, AZ now and in the same practice as my surgeon, Dr. Guillermo Higa.
  10. I will look for fairlife shakes. Thanks for the support!
  11. I am in a major stall! I have lost 50 pounds so I'm not disappointed in the total loss, but just not going below the 151-152 mark is annoying. I have 20 to 25 more to loss to reach my goal. Even though my calorie count is good I have not been drinking protein shakes. I just got so tired of the sweetness. (Never thought I would say that!) LOL At my dr appt last week I was told to go back to the shakes for 1 or 2 meals a day. Thanks for letting me vent!
  12. Thanks for this video. I am a patient of Dr Guillermo Higa, Dr Matt Weiner's colleague. Wonderful experience with Dr Higa. Dr Weiner has a lot of videos that are very informative. They are located in Tucson, AZ.
  13. All of these responses are great and right on point! I believe we have had all had the same type thoughts and questions. I finally asked myself, after many times of losing and gaining: "Well how did that work out for ya?" Apparently not well! LOL Surgery was the best decision ever!!!! Best Wishes!
  14. I have an Etekcity bathroom scales that charts weight, BMI, etc. I weight every morning, I feel it gives me an immediate insight as to things I did or didn't do appropriately: such as, did I have too much salt, did I drink enough water, did I get enough protein, what was my calorie count, and after surgery bathroom visits change a lot. I have had stalls, and increases, of course, but I think just being mindful works for me. Best wishes to everyone!

Anyone else doing this in their 60's?

Sleeved 9-1-2022, one week shy of 71! Best decision ever!!! Best Wishes
  16. I didn't lose much pre-surgery, under 5 pounds. I made my own veggie broth, which was much more flavorful. Boiled carrots, onion, bell pepper, zucchini, cabbage, canned tomatoes and 2 couple teaspoons of beef bouillon. Choose any veggies you like, boil until they are mushy, strain off the liquid. Discard the mushy veggies. It made a really good broth. Best wishes!
  17. Sleeved on 9-1-22 and hernia repair. Everything went great. Trapped air in the abdomen is not fun and can press on your heart. Walk as much as they will allow. I didn't even have to take any pain meds. Best wishes!
  18. I was sleeved on 9-1-22, one week away from turning 71. I had hernia repair at the same time. I have lost over 50 pounds and have about 20-25 more pounds to lose. I, too, said to myself "I can just follow the plan, etc and I won't need surgery." Then!!! I asked myself "How did that turn out for ya?" LOL I had not been successful in losing and keeping that same 50-70 pounds off in the past. I knew I needed another tool to be successful, otherwise I would be doing the same old thing over and over again. I did not want or need to spend the rest of my life living like that. For me surgery was the best decision I could have possibly made and it is a worthwhile journey. Best wishes to you!
  19. For me the weeks and days before surgery were harder than after surgery. It takes time to undo our behaviors and habits. Since your surgery date is so close, you undoubtably have taken many positive steps in the right direction, one little tiny half-step back is forgivable. So forgive yourself and know others are with you on this journey!
  20. Jordan's Skinny Syrups are really good and have a wide variety of flavors for coffee and other drinks as well. In my opinion, they are much better than all the others I have tried. Zero cal, zero sugar, zero protein for 2 tablespoons. I bought mine at TJ Maxx. You can get them on Amazon but are considerable higher in price than TJ Maxx. I have tried about 8 flavors, my favorite is Vanilla Caramel Creme. Actually tastes like it has creamer in your coffee. Word of caution: Jordan's Skinny Syrups are quite strong with flavor and sweetener. Start with a small amount, a teaspoon at a time, until you determine how much you want. A little goes a long way.
  21. Make your own by boiling the jerky in water or Swanson/or whatever beef broth. Maybe that would extract the jerky flavor. I made my own veggie broth by boiling them for a while and straining the broth off. So much better tasting the store bought. Be wary of the sodium in store bought broth and stocks.
  22. I was sleeved on Sept 1, 2022. I have lost over 45 pounds, about 30 more to go. Great experience! Before my surgery I tried to learn how to eat slower, take smaller bites, chew properly, drink lots of water, got completely off caffeine and carbonated drinks. Good luck!
  23. What does your pre-op diet? There are so many variations from dr to dr. Mine was 2 weeks of 2 protein shakes and one small meal of protein and veggies a day. I was sleeved on 9-1-22 and have lost 45 pounds, 20 to 30 more to go. Great experience. Just follow your plans and drinks lots of water. Congratulations on this new beginning!
  24. Sleeved 9-1-22. Hope4NewMe, you are doing great. I have lost 40+ pounds. I am at 158 today. Had several stalls but I guess that is to be expected. My hair is shedding right now, too. My bloodwork levels are good. It does feel good to put on smaller sizes, doesn't it? I gain weight all over and am losing it the same way. Which is good, I guess but it makes it hard to actually SEE changes. Hmmm, smaller but the same shape. You said, "you're brain still thinks I am the same size". Maybe my brain is doing the same thing! I, too, am so glad I had this surgery. Have fun on your cruise!
