  1. Shaving always risks small cuts and abrasions which could let bacteria in....leave the possible shave to the experts the morning of surgery to minimize the risk of infection. Mimi
  2. You are a wonderful story teller!!!!! Good luck with your journey. Mimi
  3. Since you are able to drink well and eat some things I think you have time to wait and see if your band fill relaxes a bit. If you start having reflux or start barfing and can't hold liquids down call your surgeon. Best wishes. Mimi
  4. Those Tiffany earrings are gorgeous!!!!!! Every compliment on them would be a compliment on what you have accomplished!!!! Mimi
  5. May I ask what you had done? I think the best advice to be given is to follow what your surgeon says. They are the most experienced in the field. Good luck. Mimi
  6. With a name like Tapshoes, I think you are a good candidate for PS. Of course, I could be projecting because I will be at least 58 before I am down enough for PS and intend to have the TT and boob job. I set up a savings account that I call my PS account. We hopefully have many years to enjoy our new flat tummies and perky boobs and we are worth it!!!! Best Wishes, Mimi
  7. My trainer overseas my nutrition, too, and I had to teach her about the band. I think the most important thing is if your personalities are compatible and your goals are understood and accepted by the trainer. I also agree that it is good to have a trainer who has worked with obese ppl before. Best wishes. Mimi
  8. I agree, trust your instincts, I kept putting off the unfill for 3 weeks and suffered needlessly. The wt loss wasn't worth the sliming and barfing and PB'ing. Good luck. Mimi
  9. Your doctor should be disciplined!!! What a jerk. It sounds like you need a small adjustment and he is neglecting you. I wish you luck assserting yourself or finding another doctor. I just went through it for 3 weeks and got a small unfill 2 days ago and feel like I got my life back. My PA probably thinks I am nuts, but I don't care, I know what I am living. Let us know how you do. Mimi
  10. Congratulations, Malissa!!! Keep up the good work. Your loss really shows. Mimi
  11. Scoutmamma-congratulations on your wt loss and not committing spousal battery anymore!!! That was a very funny story!!! Mimi
  12. I can't wait to see your progress pictures and accounts You have done amazingly well and I am happy for you! Mimi
  13. It sure sounds like you have a leak, and for that I am sorry. I hope and pray that it is only the port leaking. Best wishes and good luck. Mimi
  14. I agree with Sistasassy. Sneaking up on the restriction is best, I have had my last 3 fills unfilled and today am going for a 4th unfill. Life is not enjoyable when you can't keep regular food down, but want restriction so badly. Mimi
  15. Yes, thank you for letting us know. She will be missed. Mimi
  16. I was paranoid for a long time, too, and wouldn't use one. Then one day last week I realized I had been using one all day with no ill effects so now I use one all the time. Good luck. Mimi
  17. Congratulations, Mum, how about some pictures? Mimi
  18. Melissa, in my opinion you aren't in need of a fill. It sounds like if you get one you won't be able to eat protein at all. I, too, can eat salad well. It must get chewed into slider food and go right through the band because of the high water content. Of course, some ppl can't tolerate salads the way we can. Mimi
  19. Tina, thanks for the pictures, you look FABULOUS!!!!!!! Mimi
  20. Wow, if it was on your right side I would say get your gall bladder checked out...you need to see a professional, as soon as possible. Good luck. Mimi
  21. WOW, you are doing very well!!! And looking very good!!! Congratulations!! Mimi
  22. Sue, thank you for sharing, you look fabulous!!!! Mimi
  23. My initial goal wt was the published standard, then as time went by I upped it to what I thought was reasonable for me. I decided that there is a certain number of calories I am not willing to go below and a certain amount of exercise I am not willing to exceed and that meeting place is the weight I will level off at. Good luck with your decision. Mimi
  24. FG, congratulations on your huge weight loss. Good luck with all the PS, keep posting your experiences, OK? Mimi
  25. You ppl have given us a wealth of welcome information....thank you. Mimi
