  1. Andrea, see you other post. I do have a suggestion of what condition to ask the doc about. Mimi
  2. There is a condition called Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction....SOD. If you yahoo or google it there are some fairly easy to read articles. It sure sounds similar to what you have. The bad news is that there is little to offer....inderal and or nitroglycerin I believe, but the good news is that it can resolve itself. Best wishes, Mimi
  3. Barb, glad you are doing so well, keep up the healing and slow down like your nurse ordered!!!!! I am looking forward to seeing your results pictures. Mimi
  4. Dear Lord, Allie, you have been through the mill!!! I am glad to hear that you are on the mend.....I feel so bad for what you have been through. Those steroids are wonderful for making you feel better. Keep taking all your meds. Mimi
  5. It is highly unlikely that you stretched your pouch, so please relax. Go easy today and assess how you feel. The frozen yogurt was probably slider food and went right down. Good luck, Mimi
  6. Congratulations on your great restriction. Be very careful when you start food and remember, if you have a serious PB episode switch to fluids for several hours. Best wishes, Mimi
  7. I was surprised that he picked this issue to bring up and would like to know his real motivation. Mimi
  8. You didn't say how much your band held and how much was in it....is it possible you are a little overfilled? Mimi
  9. Congratulations and best wishes!!!! Look forward to your posts from "the other" side of things!!!! Mimi
  10. I, too, am curious why your doc won't give you a fill. That sucks that you have a tool you aren't allowed to use. Good luck, Mimi
  11. You are doing great, keep up the good work. Love those non scale victories of dropping clthes sizes!!! Mimi
  12. The reality is that every doctor is different. With your doctor's plan you will have great wt loss because you would never have any slider foods or high cal foods. That being said, we are human with food issues and few if any ppl can stay on a protein only diet. Many banders eat their portion of hard protein first then if they have room have some vegetables, then if they still have room eat some complex carbs. Often the hard protein will fill you up once you have restriction. Good luck, Mimi
  13. Welcome, Mary. I hope they accept your wt loss program but if not you can still read and post while you do a different program. Good luck, Mimi
  14. Best wishes, Fab, and welcome to LBT. Mimi
  15. Good going, keep up the good work. Plateaus are very frustrating. Mimi
  16. Shmoopy, I so feel your pain and empathize with you. I am also a size 10 and feel fat. I, too, wish I could feel better about myself, I have 25 years on you and am running out of time, LOL!!!! I hope we succeed in the near future!!
  17. Yes, congratulations on starting your journey. Feb will go by quickly. Mimi
  18. Sorry you made the phone typo and glad you got the job. I had to chuckle because I purposely paired a brown shirt with black jeans after reading your thread!!! I like the combo. And I envy your ability to wear those kind of boots. My legs are too short and thick, sniff sniff!!! Mimi
  19. Mobic is supposed to be easier on the stomach but your doc won't want you on ANY NSAID pre-op and maybe not for a while post op. I don't know of any poster (not saying there aren't any) that has been allowed to stay on aspirin or an NSAID. You are in a difficult position and may need stronger pain meds if plain Tylenol doesn't hold you while you are off NSAIDS. I wish you the best and actually hope I am wrong. Mimi
  20. Miss_SeeAnn: I am so glad your doc isn't selling the vits for extra money. Like Kiz I just take chewable adult Centrum and chewable Calcium/Vit D. The "HUGE LIST" of vitamins really through me for a loop because Banding is not an absorption issue and most protein shakes and vitamins have a lot of nutrition. Of course you should do as your doctor recommends. Best wishes, Mimi
  21. Oh, Allie, I am so sorry for your pain and discomfort. Usually when you have real pain you don't get addicted to pain meds, please take them so you feel better. It was brave of you to tell us the truth about your experiences and I appreciate it. You will definitely have my prayers and good thoughts coming your way. Mimi
  22. I don't understand why you have to take so many vitamins....are you having by-pass or the band? Is your doc's office selling you the vits? Mimi
  23. It sounds like you are swollen. Don't try to drink or eat anything for the rest of the night and see how you do with warm liquids in the morning. Best wishes, Mimi
  24. Congratulations MRG, I am very happy for you and wish you continued success. Mimi
  25. Thanks for the link. The good thing about the band is that it is there to use whenever you choose. Good luck, Mimi
