  1. Great story!!!! Congratulations!! Mimi
  2. Ankle weights, too, LOL. Good luck, Mamagirl, and be as short and small framed as you can be!!!! Mimi
  3. Leslie, I am sorry for your disappointment. I hope they can get you in soon and that you get to restriction quickly. Mimi
  4. Barb, you had major major surgery and a feeling of let down is absolutely normal. Your friend's reaction was a let down, too. Your PS has done a wonderful job....the body will recontour itself over the next year. If there are problem areas then he should be able to fix it...you are too fresh a post op to know what the final product will be. Take care and get some rest. I loved your before and after pictures and you have come a looooong way, baby!!!!! Mimi
  5. MsShay. You are fortunate your appeal succeeded. Can you tell us what the merits of your case was/were? I have Eastern Tricare and if you don't meet the letter of the standards you don't win the appeal from what I have been able to discover. Congratulations. Mimi
  6. I think you have lost wt on the outside of your stomach which would make the band looser. It is probably time to schedule a small fill. You are doing so well, I admire your physical activity level!!!! Mimi
  7. There is only one way to get Tricare to pay and that is to weigh what they want. Are you sure, absolutely sure that you are not shorter than you think? I don't know about you, but I can gain 5 pounds in the blink of an eye!!! Good luck, Mimi
  8. Barb, thanks for the pictures, you look wonderful!!!!!! I am so happy you are healing so well. I look forward to more of your posts!!!! Mimi
  9. You ARE trying to stay positive and upbeat and I admire you for it. I would be in a puddle in the bed!!!! Hang in there. Hugs and smooches, Mimi
  10. Ohm, you and Kenya are a pair!!!!!! I am glad her surgery went well and I am sure yours will, too. Best wishes. Mimi
  11. I like that your doc is willing to give you more so soon because mine made me wait 6 wks.......!!!!! Best wishes, Mimi
  12. Tasty Turkey Chili Recipe Great recipe and adaptable to many changes!!!!
  13. Carbgirl, congratulation on your progress. You are so right about maintenance being difficult....we know how to gain and we know how to lose, but staying the same can be uncharted territory. With daily weight fluctuations I would get very nervous and tense until I gave myself a range of 3 pounds. If I exceed those 3 pounds I get back to strict logging of food and exercise and examination of where I might have gone wrong. Good luck and best wishes. Mimi
  14. Sorry about your lost time but I am glad you posted your story to help someone else who is going through similar times. Best wishes, Mimi
  15. Welcome, Katherine!!! You have strong motivation to be a lapband success story and I wish you well. Mimi
  16. Allie, I am glad you are on the mend for everything....especially "downtown"!!!!!! You have really been through alot and I wish you well. Mimi
  17. Well, I just found it and if I can't copy/paste the url the vid person goes by massagegoddess.
  18. I am very sorrie....I just went on youtube and can't find the one I was talking about. So sorry, I will keep looking. Mimi
  19. Hey, OHM, I just saw a series of videos by a girl that had the same surgery as you will have on Youtube. Her reasons were stated and the results were very good. She is a by pass patient, I think, but a fairly young woman. She did well. Good luck, Mimi
  20. Erin, I am glad you are feeling better. I was worried about you and your kitty cat. I am glad you poured your emotions out here and were not rejected by the forumthread readers/posters!!! Mimi
  21. As long as you are keeping fluids down I think it is safe to wait through the weekend to see if it is stoma swelling from the fill vs being slightly over filled. If at any point you go more than a few hours unable to drink at all please call your doc. Best wishes, Mimi
  22. I would listen to your heart!!!! When you look in the mirror can you accept any of the areas recommended to be operated on? Remember, the price you pay for PS is scar formation. I am 4 weeks post op breast reduction and lift and arm reduction. The scars are significant and will take a year to finish remodeling. I couldn't stand to look at my floppy arms or droopy breasts and decided I would deal with the scars. Post op I have no regrets. Best wishes with your decision making. It is good you are not rushing into anything and are asking for opinions. You may even get a 4th opinion!!!! Mimi
  23. Congratulations and welcome to bandland!!! Mimi
  24. Sounds scary to me!!! Please call your doc immediately!!!! Mimi
