Just this week I took a trip and I actually had extra in my seatbelt on the plane (it used to he maxed)! (shhh don't tell my bariatric surgeon we're not supposed to travel for a minimum of 90 days per his office - I was a week short).

Went out to dinner with my parents last night for my dad's birthday. This was the first time since I had my surgery that I had gone to a sit-down restaurant and for the first time in several years I was able to sit comfortably in a booth!

It is contradictory to label this a victory. Yesterday I was standing beside the porch (approx. height 24"), a gust of wind blew me over onto the porch. Fortunately I was not injured but was "blown away" with shock at the realization I had lost enough weight that non-gale force winds could knock me over. But a true NSV, I now have my thigh-gap back!

I just bought 2 bikinis! I have never ever worn one and I may still not be brave enough to wear it outside the home but I'm just amazed that I bought any. I bought them so that I could take before and after Tummy Tuck pictures. I don't know what size to buy so I bought 2 different sizes lol. It's just crazy to me that I might qualify as a person skinny enough to wear one. Now I know that anyone of any size can wear bikinis and look awesome in them. I so love to see people with the confidence to wear them, no matter what size they were. I have never had that confidence though and have always ben hard on myself for how I look. So to think that I might meet my own requirements to wear a bikini is mind boggling to me. What a difference this surgery has done for me. I'm so glad I did it!

First summer in an awful lot of years that my heals did not crack and bleed. They were so painful and ugly. To me this is a reason never to regain.

Not weird but awesome NSV here.
I've always delayed getting a driving license until I lose weight. For some reason I convinced myself that I was too big (149 Kg before WLS) to be driving a car and that I won't be able to fit in the tiny cars used at the driving schools here in Malaysia. I saw a lot of people who were bigger than me driving around but I just couldn't get my head around it. My wife was the designated driver for quite sometime.
After losing a considerable amount of weight, I finally got the confidence to do it. I started my driving lessons in July and finally got my driving license last month. I even bought a new car that I've always liked for my 41st birthday. Life keeps getting better and better after WLS.

I'm only a week out from my surgery. I soooooo hope it doesn't change my relationship! I have a great guy, who loves me no matter what. And I love him with all my heart. A big reason why I got this surgery is because of the big plans that I have for US. If this changes our relationship for the worse, I would be so sad.

From what I understand, we will never be able to eat and drink at the same time, again. You'll get used to it. Edited to add: I will drink right before eating, but not for half an hour after eating.

I don't track, I only ever spot-check my calorie intake. Right now I'm maintaining my current weight, at between 1,200 and 1,300 calories per day. I have about 15 pounds to go, to get to my goal weight. But, I'm happy where I am. I'm an easy keeper, right now. I'm healthy. I can accomplish most things I want to do. I would like to lose the extra few pounds, but I don't really feel like working that hard. I reckon that when I can start working out, I'll start losing again.

I could get on my knees to clean the floor without having to use a folded blanket under them and then I was able to get up again without using a counter or chair to help!

These were so fun to read, and looking forward to experiencing a lot of them myself. I had my survey on July 13, 2023.
My best one so far is being able to sit without any issues with my legs crossed!!

So I just had open bladder surgery(not bypass related or caused) and had to stay in the hospital post opp...I was SO scared when they went to move me from my strecher to my room bed but it was EASY! I had m my bypass surgery 6/22 and I'm 130lbs down. Aside from the post op pneumonia everything about this surgery has been easier, walking, moving, standing, showing and I have a 3+ inch incision going from my belly button down, 15+staples and 7 stitches on my bladder on the inside. It's one of the biggest Surgeries I've ever had and pneumonia aside pretty easy recovery so far.

I am 10-months post op, gastric bypass. How much I eat, depends on what I'm eating.
If I'm eating leafy greens, I can eat quite a lot. If I'm eating a drier meat, I can't eat much.
A typical salad for me would be one leaf of iceberg lettuce, 5 grape tomatoes, about 2-3 ounces of Protein, and a little over a tablespoon of Salad Dressing.
If I'm eating a burger, it will usually be one 1/4 pound patty, served with a slice of cheese and Condiments, on a fajita-sized low-carb tortilla. I generally eat about 3/4 of this.
My usual Breakfast is 1 whole egg and two egg whites, scrambled with cheese. Sometimes I can eat the whole thing and sometimes I can't.
I have hungrier days and less-hungry days. I've learned that overeating is unpleasant. If I eat too fast, food gets stuck in my chest and hurts. And that cuts my meal short, which is annoying. Do I still eat too fast? Yes - especially when I've waited too long to eat and I'm hungry. When I eat slower, the meal is more satisfying.
With what I'm eating, I'm basically in maintenance mode. My weight bounces between 166 and 170. Though I haven't hit goal, Both my nutritionist and I are okay with where I'm at, right now.
