  1. I'm also iron deficient, and I got these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KJZF6YC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1
  2. Gastric Sleeve leak symptoms; Fast heart rate, fever, chills; Abdominal pain, chest pain, and difficulty in breathing/breathing faster than usual; Visible drainage from the incision; Intense nausea and vomiting, low blood pressure, pain in the left shoulder area; Less urination and general weakness.
  3. Ok, so day 3 is a wrap, and I'm still struggling, although i was surprised to see I've lost 5 pounds in 3 days on this liquid diet, so that kind of helped my motivation lol I know this isn't necessarily for weight loss per se, but it's at least a nice perk. I'm really just having issues when I have to take my pills. They require food, and even when I take them with milk and/or milkshakes, my stomach still gets really upset. This worries me when the surgery is over and I can only have clear liquids for 2 weeks. I'm really nervous about how sick my stomach will get.
  4. I was hoping this wouldn't be the case. With so much of the hunger hormone removed, I hoped it would be a while before we felt hunger like that.
  5. What did the ER say? You should call your surgeon again. And again, and again. As many times as you need until you get to the bottom of this.
  6. Day 2 is done, now on day 3. Hubby went to the store and bought me some V8 (I love the stuff), some sugar free iced tea, and some pho broth (my absolute FAVORITE). It's really helped. And tomorrow he's ordering chinese food for dinner and getting me wanton soup (my other favorite - but I won't be eating the wantons, sadly). He's really going above and beyond to help me get through this diet, and I just love him even more for it. Surgery is 5 days away. I got this!!!
  7. That sounds like something you should really contact your surgeon about!!
  8. So day 1 is in the books and I'm now on to day 2. Something I learned is that I have to make sure I'm getting enough calories. I only had just under 600 calories for the day yesterday and I was beyond tired, had headaches, and felt shaky. Today I'm making sure I have between 1000 - 1200 calories, and hopefully I'll feel better.
  9. I'm really struggling with being hungry, but I come back to this forum a lot, and I read the bariatric handbook from my surgeon's office, and I remind myself why I'm doing this. I'm not going to give up or cheat or walk away from this. I've come so far, I'm not screwing it up now. BUT, it's still really hard. I'm HUNGRY!!!! But I'm working, watching true crime, watching Netflix and Hulu, and whining to my husband LOL I know I'll get through it, but this part REALLY really stinks.
  10. Thank you so much, everyone. I know I sound like a whiny child, but not eating (when my issue is eating too much) is really hard. I had my morning protein shake and now I'm drinking a protein water. I'm having a protein smoothie for lunch and then another protein water later on. For dinner I'm having beef broth with beef Better Than Bouillon soup base. Then I'm having a sugar free popsicle for dessert and 1 more protein water before bed. I REALLY hope keeping to this kind of eating schedule will make this week bearable.
  11. I know!!! Exactly 1 week away from surgery day!!! And I'm not even a little nervous about it. I'm more stressed about this stupid pre-op diet LOL
  12. Just liquids. So protein shakes, protein water, protein smoothies, various broths, and sugar free popsicles.
  13. Nope, 1 week of all liquids only I have 20 minutes until it starts, so I'm eating an apple, a banana, and a few grapes lol
  14. Thanks for posting this!!!! I start my pre op diet tomorrow and I have some of the Premier Cafe Latte (got a variety pack) and I was wondering if it had caffeine in it or if it was just coffee flavored.
  15. That's surprising. My dietician went over the pre op diet with me before I even had the surgery date, and then again after I got it. And then a 3rd time when I had my pre op appt.
  16. Honestly, this 1 week pre-op diet is seriously stressing me out. I'm not the least bit nervous about the surgery, but HOW is a fat person with a big stomach supposed to live with no food??? I get it, when I have the surgery. Most of my hunger hormone will be gone, my stomach will be super small, it'll be easier. But I have ALL my hunger hormone now and my stomach is anything but small. I'm eating tonight, but starting when I wake up, no food. None. Nada. Zip, zilch, zero. Oh boy... *sigh*
  17. Mine starts tomorrow, and honestly, it's the part I'm dreading the most. HOW is a fat person supposed to get through a whole week with no food??? lol
  18. My surgery is May 3rd. I'll update here and let you know how things go!!
  19. Me too!!! Surgery on the 3rd and a 1 week pre-op diet starting on the 26th. NOT excited for that LOL
  20. Sleeve on May 3rd here!!!!
  21. Why the rush to get home? This is major surgery, and having nurses and pain meds and a reclining bed are all huge reasons to stay. Not to mention doctors usually want to test your pain levels, swallowing, walking, etc... Staying 1 night is a way better idea than going home the same day. My surgeon won't even allow it. You have to stay 1 night.
  22. Maybe look into some therapy to see why you're having a hard time making better food choices. The surgery is a tool, not a miracle cure. You've made great progress, and you can get back on track and make more.
  23. Unfortunately, nobody can give you those guarantees. If you stick with the surgeon's plan for you, odds are fantastic that things will work out like they're supposed to. But there are no guarantees with anything. It's a big decision, yes, but it's a bigger decision to do nothing. i knew it was time to do something drastic when I couldn't walk without pain, couldn't control my weight no matter what I did (and I did A LOT), when I looked through old pics and saw how thin and mobile and healthy I used to be, and when I got sick of having diabetes and high blood pressure. I have PCOS and MS, and I want to eliminate as many pills as I can (I already have some I'll have to take for the rest of my life) and I decided I was sick and tired of letting life pass me by because of choices I was making (or not making). Maybe look into some therapy to help you through your fears and help you decide what the best route to go is. Make sure you make a decision that is best for you and that you'll be happy with.
  24. Nope. That's Medicare. Medicaid is different.
