  1. Absolutely love the photo! I've grown up in PT, went to all of the schools k-12. It is a really beautiful place. I got married in Langley in September of last year! It was weird to see the bluffs of a PT vs. Whidbey like usual.
  2. I live right across the water from Whidbey! In Port Townsend! Yes everything is absolutely crazy expensive.
  3. Hi! I have got a surgery date of June 23, 2022! I am wondering if there is anyone on this forum that lives in Washington State, the Pacific Northwest to be exact, or, to be even more exact... The Olympic Peninsula? I'd love someone to talk to, whether you have had the surgery yet or not. Just someone who is on the same journey as me would be fantastic!
  4. Hi! My last appointment with the behavioral health and final surgeon appointment are on June 9th. I am not sure how long of a wait time it will be to schedule surgery (insurance approval etc.) I am nervous and excited! Good luck with your journey!
  5. Hi all! Thank you for being so supportive and forthcoming to my previous post. I am getting closer and closer to having all my requirements done (and closer to a surgery date!) I do have a few questions that I am hoping any other RNY patient can answer. 1. How long after surgery did it take for you to notice that you were losing weight? 2. What was one of your favorite items to eat right after surgery (would love recipes)? 3. How long after surgery did it take you to feel amazing? 4. When exercising, was it hard to get in to the habit of doing so? If it was hard, how did you keep yourself motivated? I am sure I will have a ton more questions later on, but I am so happy to be here and so thankful for any answers I will receive.
  6. Thank you all for your feedback! I think I am going to look for a buddy here in this group and just continue my journey my way, and on my own time and terms.
  7. Hi! I am new to this forum, and have been working on all my pre-op stuff in order for surgery in June. I was wondering if anyone decided not to tell anyone about bypass surgery except their significant other (who supports my choice 100%). I just don't know if my family would be as supportive. I feel like they would think that surgery was the "easy way" etc. I am not sure I want that negativity. I am asking if the support of 1 or 2 people is enough to keep you motivated or if I should just tell my family.
