    I officially hit 2 months post-op Saturday.
    Just a few fun shares.
I have lost 48 lbs since surgery!!! (84 total)
I had to move my the seat up in my truck.
My knees do not grind as I walk up steps anymore.
My blood pressure is on the LOW side of perfect.
All of my clothes are too big, way too big.
    My shoes are loose/roomier.

I am so amazed at how quickly our bodies change. But, what amazes me the most is how we (at least me) don't even notice as it slowly changes for the worse but EVERY SINGLE TINY thing stands out when it is changing for the better.

I had 2 cookouts this weekend and it didn't even phase me.

At my family cookout, I made avocado salad (avocado, peppers, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, olive oil, lime juice, garlic) I ate this and grilled chicken breast with regular BBQ Sauce on it. (Everyone there knew I had bypass, the only question I got was "What can you eat now" I said, anything, my SIL said ok cool.

At my friends cookout, I ate 2 deviled eggs and 2 of the tiny party size meatballs. Then I picked some cucumber out of the Pasta salad. (No one knew I had bypass, no one questioned my tiny plate of food)

I was satisfied at both and had no urge to munch.

I have zero complaints, zero regrets.

RhanBandToBYPASS got a reaction from sawalker01 in lapband removed hoping to have bypass
I just finished my 3rd week after revision from LapBand to Gastric Bypass! I had mine done at the same time, tho. Like previous reply, this has seriously been the best decision. The band was torture, frequent vomiting even with NO fill, my band had slipped and the frequent vomiting maybe led to a hiatal hernia. And I regained every last pound of the 60# I lost with it. The bypass has been great, I started soft foods last week and so far so good. I've lost 25.4#!!
    All the best to you!

I had to have my lapband removed in 2013 due to an abscess from having my band put back in place. Since then I gained all my weight back and an extra 45. Tried losing with weight watchers, then Keto and then with regular Portion Control. I lost weight on each, but never got passed 40 pounds. So, I'm calling to set up an appointment with my surgeon to hopefully get the rny going. Super nervous and good luck!

I think this person is trolling you all. I commend all of you for wanting to help this person if they are legitimate because that is what we do on here. This one seems too defiant and unwilling to consider any recommendations which just smacks of trolling. I wish this person the best if they are legit and implore them to get help right away if they are legit. But saying that they will seek help but it will not make a difference seems a little fishy. If someone does not think therapy will make a difference they simply do not go. If someone wants help they do not reject every offer of help that is provided. This post does not ring true for me. We have legitimate people on here that deserve our support and help.

This part of the journey can be really hard. Try focusing on the reward at the end. What really helped me also, was burying myself in Instagram stories of bariatric patients' progress photos and with those who have reached their goals. Their pictures are truly incredible, and so inspiring. I also agree with Bariatric Hero, try completing a shake first, then take your medications. Hopefully that will help. You got this! You are doing great! 🙂 Is your surgery Monday 5/2?
In all honesty, I may have sucked on a french fry from my kid's happy meal. Not one of my proudest moments. I kept repeating to myself during my week pre-op liquid diet..... "I'm shrinking my liver. I'm shrinking my liver. I'm shrinking my liver."

Well tonight I had my first dumping episode. I ate cantaloupe, which I thought was ok but later found out that even fruit sugar can give you dumping. Let me tell you I will avoid at all costs in the future!! Bloating, stomach cramping, nausea, sweats, salivating. It’s the worst!

I am 10 days post-op today. The first 3 days after surgery it felt very difficult to get fluids down. I was getting worried. At my appointment with my surgeon on post op day 4 he did a barium swallow. He first asked me to drink a full medicine cup of the barium. I looked at him like he was nuts, and asked if he was sure. I mean I had only been hearing “sips only”. But, the gulp of barium went down easily and went straight past my pouch as it was supposed too. I got to see the Fluid pass thru on the screen, which helped me mentally know things were ok in my belly. Lol. My surgeon said I had likely been swallowing air when sipping which made the pouch feel full. So he advised after drinking, to keep my lips closed and forcefully swallow. I did that for a bit and now feel like I drink like I was able to before surgery.
My next post op appointment is today and I am hoping to graduate from liquids to purée. Good luck to you!

I struggled for the first 2 months, I had so much nausea. It hasn't done me any harm in the long run and I can chug drinks now, hooray. I drank through the night too, @Arabesque Told me to do it too. Low calorie ice pops and warm drinks helped me through it- Oxo, Bovril [ also called beef tea ] and Ribena sugar free blackcurrant cordial are the English brand names I found helped me most. Tomato juice was a wonder drink that helped turn me around. It was 47 cals for 200mls and tasted great with hot sauce. Dont be afraid to try anything, good luck

    Welcome to the forums.
I told my spouse who was 100% supportive. I told the CEO because important arrangements had to be made, and he was also 100%, and being a Doctor of Pharmacology, wrote a supportive letter to the insurance company. I told my parents, from whom I needed medical history, who were also 100% supportive.
I didn't tell our grown 4 kids, nor any other family. I wasn't particularly secretive as no family lived in the same area as us. Didn't tell anyone until they happened by and noticed I was missing a few hundred pounds.
This is the beginning of when we start worrying about our needs and feelings before anyone else's.
    Good luck,
    Tek
