2nd/Third - Follow Up Fill Experiences
I get my third fill on the 8th I am really hoping that gets me close to my sweet spot. I am finally getting some restriction. Lost a little weight but nothing big. I fell of the exercise bandwagon for a few weeks but started up again yesterday. Hopefully that will kick start some movement on the scale.

I have a question I got sick after week 3 so haven't run for 2 weeks. I am ready to start again tomorrow. Should I just start from week three (I KNOW I'm not ready for 4 yet)

2nd/Third - Follow Up Fill Experiences
I had my second fill yesterday. It was done by the Physicians assistant. He had trouble finding the port must of stuck me 10 times. By the end I was concerned that he would cause a leak. Anyhow he put another CC in. Apparently I had 3 CCs from surgery 2 ccs from my first fill an now one more for a total of 6. I really wish he had given me 2. I still have very limited restriction. I am gonna really work hard this month though. Switching to low carb that always works well for me and I like the food so hopefully that will galvinize some loss..

So it's been a while since we've all had our May surgery...
I had my first fill and am anxiously awaiting my second. The scale isn't moving much but my clothes continue to get looser. I am exercising a lot as well. I have 2cc in a 14cc band. I will be getting my second fill August 11. I noticed a very slight difference with 2cc so I'm hoping that with 4 it will be more pronounced...

2nd/Third - Follow Up Fill Experiences
I wish I got filled as quickly as some of you. I just had my first fill on Monday and while I see a difference I have a ways to go. Congratulations everyone on their weight loss.

First Fill Experiences For The Mayo BANDitos
I am so sorry less-of-me that is horrible. How frustrating! I FINALLY got my first fill yesterday. My surgeon numbed my tummy with a lidocaine injection and had me lay down and do a bit of a sit up. He got the fill needle in with the first jab. He put in 2cc's I wish it had been a bit more but its Kaiser's policy *shrug*. I have a little bit more restriction so hopefully I will start dropping some weight. I am not holding my breath though I expect it will take at least 2 if not more fills before I hit my sweet spot.

Bandster Hell, Maybe, Bummed
I'm pretty discouraged as well. My appetite is back full force and the only time I know I'm banded is if I take a really big bite I can feel it squeeze through the band. I know that I just need to get filled so that I have restriction I just wish I was one of the majority (at least it seems) that have enough restriction or at least momentum to be consistently losing. I am trying hard to stick to smaller portions and healthy food. I am better than I was but still working. Cant wait until I get restriction.

This week has been off for me I over did it on Saturday doing a strenuous (up and down and up) 13.5 mile hike. I could barely walk for the first part of the week. My calves are just today not as sore. I will get going again next week.

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
K well I overdid it a bit Saturday did a 13.5 mile hike that was marked as very strenuous. It was great beautiful and I couldn't barely walk for two days after. I am still sore. I want to wait until the soreness heals for another day or two before I pick it up again. I am going to restart at week two. I am missing the runs though even though technically I'm only running for about 10 minutes I feel very accomplished after. I think I am going to add the calinetics video after the days I run. Its very deep streches and works the muscle some as well.

Feedback on Curves Fitness Centers??
Curves - The Workout - Curves Smart Its made a huge difference in my workouts. You can't skim through like you could before and lie to yourself that you were really working out hard. You have to push yourself to get the green lights and then its constantly adjusting so the workout remains challenging.

Banding on May 21st 2009. Who else?
Im still waiting for my first fill and am really trying (not very successfully) to eat right the evenings are the hardest. I am however exercising like crazy. I am doing curves 5 times a week and am on the second week of the couch to 5 k program. I feel better and I know I am losing inches based on the looseness of some of my clothes but my scale is staying stubbornly in one place sigh

Confused. Can someone help me??
A question for the more informed... Isn't the muscle of those of us that are obese marbled? I mean its not straight lean muscle right? When we lose weight and exercise the muscle will be leaner than currently.

Thank you Kathy and Slinky I think that is the exact area that needs to be stretched I was getting the side and back of the calf with my stretching but couldn't figure out how to get the front area!

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
That is really exciting Kathy! How soon before the results are published? How do you deal with pain in your shins? Its not bad yet just kind of a dull ache but I would like to do something to prevent shin splints?

Overweight friends and the lap band
Make yourself available to do active and healthy activities together but don't make your friendship about you coaching her to lose weight. Sure she wants to but it will discourage her as you lose better due to the band and she may start to resent your success. Not because she is a bad person but because its less painful to focus the negative emotion on you than herself. If she REALLY wants to lose weight she will ask you for suggestions and do research on her own as well.
