Has anyone been "preparing"?
MustangGirl my kind of lady we all need that good-bye party. Had that discussion with my Physiologist on mixed drinks he told me to have one and say good-bye. Well being compulsive like we are that takes planning. For me that will be a 8 oz Martini Glass made wet with extra dry vermouth 6 oz Vodka fill the glass with ice topped with 4 very large jalapeño stuffed olives. Now take that drink out on the back porch put a 1-1/4 lb Rib-Eye Steak on the Weber Grill cook diner and enjoy my last drink. But I am not done yet after enjoying that wonderful Steak it’s time for desert right. For me that is a large bowl of chocolate ice cream of course with chocolate chips, floating in Hershey’s dark chocolate syrup, covered with nuts, whip cream and those little red cheers. Now take the spoon put it back in the drawer get out a large bag of chocolate chip cookies to use for the spoon. :smile2:

Fenton vs. PRCowboy Challenge
BigRick: 57 lbs forever gone sure looks good to me. With all the walking you do, probable just turning fat into mussel. I have lost track but think you have only been banded two or three Months. Don’t forget they tell us to also measure are self. Mediummike in 8 months looks like you have lost 82 lbs forever and only 18 lbs away from your first goal pretty impressive to me. For me in 2000 my top weight was 332 lbs. June this year when I started this trip I was 309 lbs. At the Surgeons visit to set the surgery date I was 296 lbs. So I am down 13 lbs and only 19 days from my big day. Now mediummile as for clothes I am the old guy walking in the park wearing sweatpants with suspenders.

Need help from you guys!!!
This advice is quite simple had to do it myself. I am so sorry it took you 10 years to find out about this creep, but then it took me 4 years. Have been happily married for 44 years now. Don’t worry with your looks and your new skinny body a good Man will find you, and this time you will recognize him. Dump the Creep the Two Boys will respect you in the long run and won’t if you don’t. This is hurtful and painful but facts are facts take a long look at the Quote (no one like her deserves to be called a woman) I left the very next day after finding out. My recommendation Friday 10-31-08 In the AM calls your Lawyer, after Lunch get a Locksmith to change all the locks. Hang a note on the door see you in court, take the Boys and take the weekend off go some place. It will only hurt for a little while compared to staying with him.

Am/fm radio earmuff
Hi Guys: Looking for some advise on a radio. Don't think I would like the ones I see with wires from the ears to a Radio or ipod that I see people use. Think I would like the earmuff type. So far I have not found many on line but did look at a Peltor Digital worktunes EARMUFFS looks pretty good but $100 bucks seams high to me for a radio. Would you have any suggests on what you like or don't like. Thanks

Anyone up for training for a 5K?
HI 2big4u Just last week when I was in my Surgeons office getting my date for the operation. They gave me a book Lap Band Owner’ Manual the nurse opened it to a page and pointed out to me that for Life I was not to take Ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, or Aspirin That they could over time erode my small pouch to only take Tylenol.

What the heck have i done
HI 2big4u was looking at your photo? Got a Brother-in-law lives just north of Calgary don’t recall a place like that but let me know where might just come up and get on some of that free Med’s. Good luck on your Docs visit tonight keep in touch. Xtightend – I was not told to loose weight before Surgery. It was just suggest it would help both by some new bandsters at my first seminar, my Psychologist and Dietitian. My Doctor only requires a two-day liquid diet before the operation so I just felt it would be best for me to get a head start. I pretty much put myself on a low carb. No Snacks and one eat out REALLY EAT meal a week. Its all about shrinking the liver what kind of a Preop diet will you be on?

Hi Guys – Just wanted to give you an update. Got my new running shoes has helped me to move up to 2.1 Miles per day not to bad for a Fat Old Goat soon to be a younger Goat. My Psychologist wants me using a Pedometer bought an Omron HJ-112, It tracks Steps, (Aerobics steps – with time), Calories Burned, and distance. Very happy with its performance. Still on low carb diet down 13 lbs now. In the Doctors office last week I had the lowest blood pressure reading I’ve had in years this walking sure is a good thing. I started a Journal a few weeks back keeping track of food and exercise effort just beginning to see the value of keeping it. Trying to get stuff ready for the day. Got my Chewable Vitamins. Any great Protein supplements to get or avoid? With all this gas pain you Guys keeping talking about should I be thinking about pain Medicine?

Old Goat ? Hoping to find other Old Goats to take this L.B. Journey with Me.
Hi Guys - been awhile since I posted. My Journey to join the club has been a slow one. When I last reported I could just Grumble, shuffle feet, grumble, and wait. Progress has been made to that I have now added Twiddle my thumbs. Still exercising now walking 1.8mi/day, doing wgt’s one hour 3 days/wk. Started the Elliptical a couple of weeks ago now that thing is a killer for me 3 min twice a day is my max. But one day I will own that sucker and I don’t mean buy it. Have lost 10 lbs - What is it about us Guys when we loose weight our Butt is the 1st to go and our Gut is the last can’t keep my damn pants up. Been to the Dietitian received my training and got my Book with all the requirements. Been to the Psychologist have received his approval, with more meetings scheduled he is overhauling my head I like this guy. Got a story that will either make you laugh at or with me. On my 1st visit when he was finished talking. He told me that I would need to fill out a questionnaire (think this might be a Medicare requirement) but for this story don’t care why. He turned me over to an assistant. She took me to a small room with a sign on the door test room 2 it was a very nice little room about 8’ x 8’, carpeted, large leather chair and a desk with a small (3’’ cube box) on the desk the box also had a button. Now she spent time explaining the test, asked do you have any questions? When I said no she reached down pushed that button on the box and left closing the door. Now I need to give you a little more information by the time she left the room it was 11am I had two cups of coffee with Breakfast and one in the office before my appointment, I took all my Medication that morning one of which is Furosemide (water pill) now when she pushed that button on that little box it exploded with a sound that would equal Niagara Falls complete with a roaring white Water river rushing over boulders. Now after 30 minutes trying to finish that test as fast as I could squirming all the time to the point a hole must of been worn in my pants along with the water level raising in my eyeballs to the ¾ full level I just said to hell with the tests and went to “P” After starting my Journey on June 24th I get to see my Surgeon this Wednesday October 15th for the 1st time might get Surgery Date. Wish me luck.

Hi Ceder Welcome to LapBandTalk. 9-1/2 Stones lost forever for 2 Years now. Outstanding I also lost 9-1/2 Stones once in my life and gained it back so I do understand your worries. I am not able to advise you from doing it myself With the LB yet. People that have had the Lap Band for a long time do not always look here in the Introduction Forum. Here would be a good place to start. If you will go down on the page you will find Forum Jump in that you will find United Kingdom Local Lap-Band Support. Go into that and start a Thread with what part of the UK your in and what your looking for bet you will find help good luck.

Has anyone been "preparing"?
Hi Ladies – Would you be willing to help a Male Old Goat like me get ready for this Lap Band Surgery? I do agree we should be taking (get ready for surgery steps) now. I only have two items left to get on the surgery schedule. Last meeting with the Psychologist & Insurance (got so much wrong) not a problem. Surgeons Nurse said I should be a late November Lap Bander. Nurse also told me to start taking the B – Complex with Thiamine NOW it would help get us ready.

Old Goat ? Hoping to find other Old Goats to take this L.B. Journey with Me.
Hi Fresca - Been doing some research on the F55 do have a few questions. Right now my workouts consist of 20 to 25 min walking a day, 30 Min with the weights 3 times a week, and swimming 30 Min 5 times a week. 3 Meals a day no snacks and 30 to 40 Total Carbs. Not sure I can push the walking much right now to much weight for the joints. Looks like the F55 is water proof if you don't push buttons? The unit you have uses the chest band? Do you down load the data to your computer? and track your weekly totals? Think I will give the elliptical a try at the fitness center, might be able to burn more calories with less stress on the joints. The F55 probably well be a item for the must have list. The Preliminary Steps start next week with the Dietitian.

Hi BigRick - Man I’ve held off posting you giving you time to heal. Wow only two weeks after Surgery, down 30 lbs, Walking 3 Miles per day, Blood Sugar at or below 100 that’s Greaaaaaaaat. At that rate three Months from now you will be off all Medication back to walking “what is it 9 Miles” over rough terrene and at your Goal. You will have to change your user Name to SkinnyRick. Input from you Guy’s says Walk – Walk – Walk. I did start working on that 3 weeks ago only up to ½ Mile per Day but then a little over a Year ago I was in a Walking Boot for over 5 Months for the strained Tendon. I can go farther but the leg will not, sure my current Weight has a lot to do with it. But I will make it happen. Trying to set a Goal for myself should it be 4 Miles per Day 7 Days a week. Would that be a good doing it Buy the Book?
