  1. 150 grams of protein is only 600 calories. You need to eat the correct amount of protein so the weight you do loose is mostly fat and not muscle. Also protein keeps you satisfied longer so you shouldn't be hungry quickly after eating. My biggest suggestion is not to second guess your dietician, surgeon, etc. Not to be harsh but what you have been doing apparently hasn't worked or you would not need WLS. In order for WLS to be successful, you will have to stop making excuses and follow the plan. WLS is not easy or a quick fix. It is just a tool. You and only you will still have to work hard. Whoever says it is easy hasn't done it! You CAN be successful just like so many others on this site.

    Business Travel after ESG

I had ESG in 2020. You should be fine two weeks out. You will notice fatigue due to your decreased calorie intake so plan for that. Also, meals maybe a bit of a challenge depending on your food restrictions but doable.

    Regrets?

No regrets but just be sure you have realistic expectations. A full tummy tuck can give amazing results but it does not remove ALL the loose skin. I still have some loose skin just under my boobs and on flanks.
  4. I've noticed wrong information (excess vs total body weight) being stated regarding ESG weight loss. The following is from the doctor who performed my ESG procedure. "On average, patients who proceed with ESG will have lost about 20% of total body weight one year after the procedure. Because of how ESG contributes to helping change overeating habits, many patients lose over 70% of their excess body weight over the long term." I achieved a 30% total body weight loss (lowest weight at 9 months post procedure). However, I'm maintaining a 25% total body weight loss at 2 years out.

    Day 21 ESG

I'm doing good. My lowest weight was 135 (60 pound loss). I tend to hover between 140 and 145 pounds. I still struggle with evening snacking. I'm still able to eat multiple "snacks" over the course of an evening due to head hunger/old habits.

    Day 21 ESG

That's who performed my ESG procedure back in June 2020!

    Day 21 ESG

Glad to hear things are going well. Do you mind me asking? Who and where did you have the procedure done?

    My First Binge :(

In the US, they are "Cheetos Crunchy".

    Straws

I have always used straws. Thinking is that you swallow more air using a straw. My doc's thinking was that if it doesn't bother you, than use a straw

    My First Binge :(

Unfortunately the binge slope is a very slippery one. Once you start, it can go down hill fast. I know from experience! So it's best not to start in the first place. I know it's hard to do because unfortunately WLS does NOT prevent returning to old habits. Don't beat yourself up. Bad days are going to happen.

    Post Op Day 3

Following my ESG for the first several days whenever I tried drinking water it would feel as if I was drinking battery acid. My doctor recommended drinking Fairlife fat free milk. He recommended Fairlife since it is higher in protein per serving. I was able to drink it without pain and kept me from getting dehydrated.

    ESG Expected Weight Loss

I just noted a couple of posts that stated a 20% loss in EXCESS weight when it actually is a 20% loss in TOTAL weight.

Please tell me I haven't failed.

As an ESGer myself, it is crystal clear that the procedure should have NEVER been done in the first place. The OP does not have and most likely never had the mindset needed in order for the ESG procedure (or any other type of WLS) to be successful. Shame on the clinic who preformed the procedure. With that being said, OP you wanted a quick, easy fix. Sorry, it just doesn't work that way.
  14. The belly button is new. I naturally have a high belly button and with the existing tattoo (what remains is the half that was above my "old" belly button), we (me and PS) decided to be "conservative" and go with a higher placed scar with scar revision(s) planned in the future. I didn't have enough skin to remove the tattoo completely so it was more important to me that the remaining portion not be totally distorted. My bikini wearing days are long gone so hiding the scar was not as important. It will be easy to remove more of the tattoo without distorting it and lower the scar an inch at a time. The scar revision is an office procedure done under local anesthesia so not a huge deal.
  15. Just the lateral one unless you have a ton of skin above your belly button. I had muscle repair with my tummy tuck. I'm still quite swollen in the picture. My scar is high (planned) and I will be having scar revision to lower it.

    Negative comments from family members

Precisely why I only told my husband!

    Feeling kind of devastated…

I just had PS (tummy tuck) and the most valuable thing my surgeon said was to expect some level of depression/regret and most importantly to be patient. It's takes months to fully recover and see the final results. Hang in there.

    Vaginal Bleeding

Fat cells store and produce estrogen so when one loses weight your estrogen levels can fluctuate. The changing hormone levels can cause breakthrough bleeding.

    Night Sweats

Fat cells store and produce estrogen so as one loses weight estrogen levels can change. The low or changing levels of estrogen in particular are the cause of night sweats. Plus perimenopause typical occurs been 40 and 50 so that could be another reason for fluctuating estrogen levels.
  20. I had stage 2 (lipo) done today. I'm feeling good. The leftover Percocet from stage 1 is a blessing. Dr. gave ok to use it instead of the typical prescribed Vicodin. I will probably have a small amount of loose skin on the thigh gap and love handle areas but nothing that a tiny nip/tuck won't take care of. I'll post pictures in a couple of months when most of the swelling is gone. As far as the TT recovery (7 wpo), I can now ride my bike; cough/sneeze/laugh without tearing up; but still no heavy lifting. I consider house cleaning heavy lifting (wink, wink) so I guess hubby will have several more weeks of maid duty. I was still wearing a compress garment 23 hours a day even though I don't have to wear it more than 12 hours. Dr. said the longer the better and I don't mind it since it's not summer yet. Now I'm back to wearing it 24/7. Dr. said plan on the scar revision this fall and my scar is healing nicely.
  21. I had my TT (muscle repair, no lipo*) on 1/10/22. Recovery was what I expected pain wise but not time wise. For some crazy reason I thought I would bounce back in a couple of weeks - NOPE! The first week I needed help doing everything (except wiping my hiney - thank God). The drains were removed on day 8 which did not come quickly enough. I haven't had any major complications, just a minor (small hematoma) that resolved on its own. I'm still a bit tender but I can now sneeze/laugh/cough without my eyes tearing up. My scar is healing ahead of schedule (per surgeon). I tried silicone tape (week 3) but it made me itch so I just massage my scar with coconut oil daily but I do forget some days. I will be having scar revision in the future but that was always part of the plan. I have a high belly button and I also had a tattoo around my belly button. Not one of my smartest moves but what can I say, I was 20 something at the time. My surgeon does not make "T" incisions due to blood supply concerns. Also, since the entire tattoo could not be removed, I didn't want a totally distorted tattoo. So my scar at this time is higher than both he and I would prefer. The scar revision is an office procedure with local anesthesia so I didn't object. I chose to "stage" my lipo after my tummy tuck. I'm scheduled for lipo on 2/28/22. Why you may ask. I'm having multiple sites done (knees, inner thighs, saddle bags, and flanks). By doing it in "stages" the lipo of the flanks can be more "aggressive" than if I had it with the TT.

    Another Tummy Tuck Experience

Goal of the future scar revision is to move the incision under the tattoo down closer to where my underwear are and to remove more of the tattoo so that the incision looks more like a "handlebar" and less like a "grin". FYI: What's left of the tattoo is the half that was originally above my belly button so you can have some idea how much skin was removed. The tummy tuck didn't give me my 20 something stomach back but I'm happy with the results so far. The "final" result won't be apparent for several more months. Plus the lipo should help.

    Another Tummy Tuck Experience

I looked into going to Miami, FL (Dr. Alex Earle) because of cost but when I took into account all the additional expenses needed for travel (airfares, lodging, food, Uber/taxi) plus my husband was not thrilled once he did research on the possible complications (necrosis, DVT, infection, seroma, hematoma), I went to a local surgeon. TT: $10,700 Lipo (knees, thighs, saddle bags, flanks): $5,600 Even though it was more than I had estimated ($15k), I'm glad I went with a local surgeon because I did have a couple of minor complications (small hematoma and a suture knot that needed to be trimmed).
