It's okay, it gets better. Just breathe. And drink. You don't want to get dehydrated.

First off, yay you! You're on the loser's bench now!

The pain is real, especially the gas pain. A realization that I came to a couple of days after surgery was that I had to relax my body, sort of giving my body permission or reminding it to pass the gas.

And as everyone says, sip sip sip and walk walk walk. This too shall pass!

you are allowed to scream, you are allowed to cry, you are even allowed to question why., But the one thing you are not allowed to do is Give Up, do,t,look behi,d you are no longer going that way. Even if your steps seem to falter, have faith in yourself, be gentle , be sure kind to yourself as you heal. Day by day you will get stronger, you will find your strength as your life starts to,balance out. And be,proud of how far you have come already. and those foundations will help you in your post-surgery life. Up i can do it , my friendc you can really do it and do it well. God Bless.

I chose the sleeve due to the fact that I wanted to keep things as "normal" as possible after I recovered. I wanted to be able to be able to get most of my nutrients in the long run from my food and be less reliant on supplements. Also for my particular problem with food (which was, to put it simply, eating A LOT at meals as opposed to lots of in between meal snacking or emotional eating) this was a good fit.
As far as telling people I was very open with anybody who asked about it and really didn't run into anybody who was discouraging, but I am also very thick skinned so it wouldn't have bothered me anyway. But that is a personal choice that you will have to make, some people decide to only tell their spouse/family and that is what works best for them.
