Ooooou I probably should update :)

So after a 7 week , what I think was a stall. the scale finally started going down. I am down 8 more lbs in just 1 week and I’ve changed nothing . So exciting! I’m sure it’s Water weight but IDK why it held on for so long. Hang in there you guys. We got this !

I lost 55 after surgery (238 on 3/21) and then I stalled at 4 months PO. I have not lost one single pound since 6/20.

    It is frustrating 😩

Hello everyone, it has been awhile since my last update so I guess it is about time.

So, really no complaints. Life if good, everything is going well and I am chugging along at a very satisfying pace. I have lost 113 lbs total and 76 lbs since surgery!

I measured myself for the first time since surgery the other day, really most of my body measurements are the same which I find a little weird after loosing 113lbs.
I do carry most of my weight in my belly, and have small arms and small legs so I guess it makes sense. I lost a total of 4 inches all over my body PLUS 14 inches in my waist alone. No bad I suppose.

I can eat anything except COLD chicken (I guess it is too dry cold) but it makes me sick every time I tried so I stopped. I also struggle a bit with actual soft bread, it doesn't make me sick but it hits me like a brick. Toast, crackers, wraps are all fine though. I eat a very balanced diet of everything as my dietician recommends while making sure I hit my Protein and fluid goals. I usually don't have room for carbs once I eat the protein but every once in a while I get some in and I don't mind it.
I have splurged a few times with treats, very minimal a few bites 2 or 3 times. Haven't had any issues with that and I have never dumped.

The list of NSV's could go on for days.
I played tennis the other day for the first time since loosing weight and the difference was unbelievable. I didn't even get out of breath while running back and forth across the court, because really we suck at tennis so there is a lot of running but it is fun.
My knees don't grind, my feet and ankles no longer swell even after walking all day, I don't walk up the stairs all on one leg anymore, I FIT ON ROLLER COASTERS!, I walk around the Water park in my bathing suit now. I bought a new bathing suit and feel good in it. I don't find excuses to drive place even when it is less than a mile away, I just naturally walk. (I live in the city)
I went from a size 26 jeans to a size 18/20 depending on the cut. From a 4x tshirt to a 2x tshirt. My shoes are loose, probably don't need "wide width" anymore. Still working through my skinny days clothes so I have only bought 1 new outfit for a nice dinner because I don't have anything other than jeans, and mostly tshirts that fit now. By the end of the year I will need an entirely new wardrobe! I am looking forward to the shopping. (For once in my life!)
I could go on and on but you get the hint!

I hope everyone is well! ❤️

vikki401 got a reaction from Possum220 in Is my weight loss on track?
I feel my surgeon has abandoned me. My next visit with her isn’t until 3 months post-op. My only goals we set are to drink 64oz of liquids and 60 grams of Protein daily. She said MOST of my excess weight will be lost in the first 6 months, so to stay focus and take advantage of the surgery.

I don’t know how much MOST of my excess weight is, so I don’t know if I’m losing at the correct rate. I don’t know if I am eating too much or too little. I’m just listening to my body. If I’m hungry, I eat. If I am full. I stop. The only food restrictions I have are raw veggies and steak. Other than that, she told me to “listen to my body and if it hurts, stop and try again at a later time” .

I had surgery 3/21 so that makes me a little over 6 weeks post-op. I started at 245 and was not required to follow the 2 week diet. I was only told not to eat solids the day before surgery. Day of surgery I weighed 238. Today I weigh 210. That’s only a 28lb lost in 6 weeks. I’m 5’1” so I still have a lot to lose. I’ve been at 210 for a week now so I think I’ve hit a stall. I’m losing and I feel great; so I am happy , but I don’t want her to be disappointed at 3 months if I am not at the weight she’s expecting me to be at (whatever that might be).

I don’t know if I’m doing this right. Some days I feel so great and able to move that It seems too easy. just rolling over in bed use to get me so tired. I am wondering if I should go “harder”.

How much was everyone else down by 6 weeks?

It has been 4yrs since my (initial) WLS.
Within that time I made great new friends, found love, had a revision, lost a parent, witnessed a pandemic from one of it’s epicenters, had plastics, had new additions to my extended family, relocated, had one child graduate from high school and more.
Almost none of these things were weight related but somehow everything else in my life seemed easier to focus on without worrying about weight.
My weight has been stable since I hit goal a few years ago with only minor fluctuations.
I’m proud to say I will always identify as a WLS patient. I thought I wouldn’t feel like one years out but I find I am consciously honoring this lifestyle in the majority of my choices.
I’m grateful we have this forum and I’m especially grateful to everyone in the WLS community that make it a positive and supportive environment to thrive in.

vikki401 got a reaction from GreenTealael in Eating too much?
Hi, I am 13 days PO gastric bypass. For the first 12 days I could barely drink a little more than an oz in 15 mins. This morning for Breakfast I was able to drink 11oz in 30 mins and not feel full. For lunch, I just had some Soup and I was able to eat 9oz in 30 mins. I don’t feel “stuffed” but I am having heart palpations.

Has anyone experienced this? is this normal ?

One thing i look forward to is actually finding clothing that fits once i have my surgery. I normally wear the same thing everyday, A white tshirt and basketball type shorts everyday. Last couple days been looking for actual clothes for a event tomorrow (Dress pants, collard shirt) and wow its been impossible... Me being 5'4 and 315lb. and havent worn real clothing like that in years. went to several stores and it was impossible to find anything that fit and i have a closet full of nice nearly brand new clothing that i havent been able to wear since 2016. hoping i get this cardiac clearance for surgery next week and can get this show on the road.
