I was told liquids 2 days prior but I’m having mines in Mexico. I do have to eat lean meat and veggies and increase H2O and Protein.

AHHH! You guys I am so excited. The last time I posted on here I was so discouraged and upset after having to reschedule a million times but I have good news! I had my consult, the doctor thinks I am an amazing candidate for sleeve surgery. I already did my psych evaluation this morning and passed with flying colors! All I have left to do for my requirements is attend one support group meeting and one nutrition class (scheduled for Dec 1st!!!). My surgeon said it should take me about 2.5 months from our consult to the surgery day! So crazy fast and easy once I got it started. I am over the moon about this! SO excited to finally take back control of my life!!! Thank you all again for the awesome reassurance and support on my last post. These forums are seriously the best source of support and information I could ever ask for!

I submitted all the documents 2 weeks ago to my Surgeon’s Office. I’m awaiting:
1. 2 more appointments with my Surgeon Signing the consent form, picking a Surgery date and taking a quiz while at the 2nd appointment
3. Approval letter from the insurance company

The Holiday season is up on, it’s obvious that my Surgery won’t be next month like I wanted . It will be in January

Hi. I’ve struggled with my weight for most of my adult life. My weight has fluctuated so much and I’m tired of looking and feeling the way I feel. I lost my mom four months ago and it hurts like hell. I wish you all the best and I pray for your comfort-emotionally, psychologically and physically. I’m scheduled for surgery on December 10th. I’m nervous and worried but I’m also excited to look and feel better. My back and feet hurt constantly and my anxiety and depression is all over the place and I dread taking pictures and going out because I’m so ashamed of my weight gain. Since my mom has passed food has definitely been my comfort.

Hi! I am scheduled for my bariatric sleeve on December 10th. I will be traveling to Mexico because my insurance does not cover weight loss surgery. I’m nervous and excited too. I’m so sick of the up and downs and I’m looking forward to stability, being healthy and looking and feeling good. I provided the clinic with my information and based on the information they suggested the sleeve.

Stepped on the scale this morning and was under 300 pounds for the first time in almost twelve years… not gonna lie, I cried happy tears
Once I’m a bit more comfortably under, I’m going to schedule a DXA scan, since my ultimate goal is 15% body fat, and it’ll help to recalibrate where that number lies on the scale.

I commend you first of all for realizing you need comforting and reaching out. A lot of people put themselves in danger by not doing so. You have gone through a lot and I know how hard it is to keep going, I can tell you now that your mom, even though she may not walk amongst us anymore, is proud of you. Hang in there, think about the reason you're going through this journey and your resolve to see it through to its conclusion. When you feel like the world is crashing around you, take a moment to breath, think about the happy memories she gave you. You could make it a goal to give others good memories like she has given you as a way to thank her as well as grieve in a positive way.

I’m scheduled for the 10th and I’m scared too. I’m happy to be taking this major step but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared. Good luck! ☺️

Just had my surgery on the 1st. So far, I've had zero issues.

Had my RNY October 5th. I was diabetic, so getting off those meds was goal #1. After the 2-week pre-op diet, I had come off all my meds, but was hesitant to say I would be free from those after surgery. Had my appointment with my diabetes doc at 4-weeks post-op, she declared my diabetes was now in remission, and we said our goodbyes! Daily glucose sticks are between 80-92...no matter when I test them!
Goal #2...reduce size & get back to feeling "normal", whatever that will be!

Hi everyone!
I’m having surgery tomorrow 10/2/21 in Tijuana. My mom had the same gastric sleeve procedure done at the same location years ago and is doing great…but I’m still so nervous. I’ve never had surgery before and am really scared of anesthesia or some crazy complication (though I know the chance is tiny). Also I’m afraid I won’t be able to eat anything normal after recovery…I really love cooking and having friends and family over for dinner. It’s always been such a source of pride to me and I feel sad I won’t be able to enjoy that the way I used to.
Just trying to focus on all the good things that will come of this to stay calm and positive. No more joint pain, fitting into old clothes, better body image, etc!!

Not quite as sweet as a Crystal Light packet, but they don't taste bad. I like the watermelon flavor the best.

If you think you are dehydrated, buy a box of these from Walgreens (they are usually found in the baby aisle by Pedialyte). Use them like a Crystal Light packet. It will help get the liquid into your system/bloodstream VERY quickly and prevent dehydration. If you are waking up the headaches, drink one of these before bed.

At 9 days post op...you really should be eating eggs. You should really only be on liquids. That's probably why you are struggling so much. Some doctors rush eating too soon, those that go slower with introducing food back in seem to do a lot better.

Good news Surgeon is not to worried about my sleep apnea so I’m scheduled for the sleeve December 22!! Bad news is I start the liquid diet on November 22 and I was hoping I could have Thanksgiving but doc says nope
