  3. Hi all! So I’m in need of some info.. are we low cal, low fat or low carb? See the reason I ask is because low carb is high fat, high protein.. but I thought fat was not good for us… now that I am almost 6 weeks out (Friday makes exactly 6 weeks) I’m feeling hungrier. I eat 5 small meals, but if I actually eat I’m looking at more calories. I’ve been creeping upwards around 950 calories a day. When I used to do keto, I never looked at calories. Help!
  4. @JordanM Hi! It feels like burning right in the center of your chest - especially when it gets bad. Maybe the top of your throat in your mouth - that can feel like it’s burning. I clear my throat a lot and have been told that’s from acid reflux. Coughing, trouble swallowing - all of that can happen if it goes untreated. I wasn’t given an exact amount for water intake post op - was told if my urine was light yellow and mouth wasn’t dry, I was getting enough. I was sleeved on 10/8. I’m down 32 pounds since 9/28 (pre-op appt) from 257 to 225. I feel good but I’m struggling with depression - something I’ve struggled with before but it’s gotten worse. I want to eat, but I can’t. I want chocolate, but I can’t. I’m on solid food as of 4 weeks out and so far I can pretty much tolerate everything.
  5. I was sleeved on October 8th.. has some complications (passed out when I tried to stand up) so I had to stay in the hospital half a day longer but now that I’m home, I’m doing better. Got lots more protein down today and about 45oz liquid. Doctor told me not to count, just pay attention to urine color and whether mouth is wet or dry. I think my biggest complaint is a headache that I get when I’m really tired or when I was up from sleeping. I have my post op appt on Wednesday, so I’ll ask, but has anyone had to deal with a headache after surgery??

  10. Hi! So my surgery will be next Friday, the 8th.. originally was the 7th but surgeon needed to switch. I had my pre-op yesterday and I only have to fill my post-op meds (like pain medicine), get a COVID test on the 4th and get some labs drawn. That’s it. No special diet or anything like that. I’m having a hernia repair at the same time. I’m so worried about dehydration and pain afterwards I’m having trouble sleeping now, lol! I’m excited but it just needs to happen so I don’t have to keep thinking about the what-ifs. How is everyone else doing today??
  11. I’m having surgery on the 8th. Gastric sleeve and hernia repair. I’m terrified! I was approved for the lap band many moons ago and chickened out the night before. Here we are again and I’m going to need some positive reinforcement in order to go through with it, which sucks because I want this surgery so badly. Mine is being done by Dr. Robert Marvin in Houston, TX. ❤️
